When I ordered STAR TREK BEYOND exclusive, they cancelled the gift card completely (no physical/digital) BUT they reduced the price of their exclusive -$5.Originally Posted by hdnmickey
I have no idea how long ago, but I remember having two Target of these pre-orders in queue that included me being sent $5 gift cards when the blu-rays finally shipped. But before the actual release week of the blu-ray the gift card portion of the order was cancelled and eventually I was sent digital gift cards via email. I have taken advantage of at least a twenty of these gift card pre-orders since and have never been sent a physical gift card. And as I posted earlier, I have considered that an improvement. The digital process is far more efficient and safe.

That's happened to me a couple times as well. Basically I never know how it's actually going end up working out before they ship the actual Blu-ray, but it's always worked out as intended (or better) price wise. Which is why I keep doing it.Originally Posted by gerrythedon

Currently I have Target's version of Logan on pre-order for $19.99 with a $5 card. Time will tell which version of the card I get and if the price stays the same.

FYI: Vudu has this out now. Looks like it includes all extras, including b/w version and only $14.99. Thinking of cancelling Target as I really don't care about book and no additional extras on that one...

I just got home from the Logan Noir showing at the Alamo Drafthouse, I liked the use of B&W much better than in Mad Max Fury Road, one fun little touch they did was put a really old fox logo at the beginning. Plus I got a really incredible poster thats getting framed.

Bummed I missed the screening of Logan Noir at the Alamo Drafthouse in San Francisco. The early screening sold out and they added a 11:15p screening, which is a bit late for me considering the film is almost 3 hours long. Add in the Q&A with James Mangold afterwards and a 1 hour drive?
I pre-ordered the Blu-Ray this morning from Amazon with a Gift Card I got from Teacher Appreciation Week, so I'll have to check this out at home.

I am starting to think I might get the 4k set, I don't have a 4k tv or bluray player, but I hope to get both eventually. Is anyone else here doing that? I thought I might begin to plan for the future, and I have no use for the dvd at this point.

I bought the 4K version of Suicide Squad and the Mummy trilogy even though I don't have a 4K set. I will be doing that for Logan too.

Yeah, I mentioned earlier that this will be my first 4K purchase. I'm planning on getting a UHD player at the end of the year, and I agree the DVD copies are pointless for me and the cost difference isn't significant.

I just went with the VUDU Digital Exclusive. Got it all a week early and also paid for the disc & digital deal, so I will be getting a BD copy in the mail upon release. I already watched the Noir version and it was fantastic.

I hope that doesn't mean we'll get a stacker, or worse yet some discs in sleeves action (I'm looking at you Deadpool). I guess I'll find out next week, already have had on pre-order (pick up) for quite sometime.Originally Posted by gerrythedon

Fuck it, I ordered the 4K version from Target as well. I couldn't cancel the book exclusive since it was already preparing to ship. So once I have both, I'll decide which to keep.

Yeah, I went with Vudu copy only. Had it all sans commentary. $14.99 for all that is good and I really want to cut down on physical bc I just don't have any more room for these damn things. No added extras on any release was easy to pass physical...

The Noir version's B&W is much better than the one on Fury Road probably due to the HDR in Noir and lacking in Fury Road's B&W.

I'm not a huge fan of the Target exclusive packaging. The book isn't separate from the discs, the discs are in the front of the book when you first open it. And the Noir disc is in a separate cardboard sleeve. The book itself is pretty cool, I'm just not a fan of how it's all put together, it should have been separate like some of the other Target exclusives. Here is a You Tube video I found if anyone wants to check it out. I think I'm just going to stick with the 4K copy I also ordered and take the other version back.

I got the 4k version last night at Walmart right around midnight, the exclusive version with the poster cards is pretty nice for these store exclusives. I am watching the black and white version right now. As I stated the 4k version was only about $4 more in cost and figured I could begin to future proof my collection.

Crud, my Target version is probably at home waiting for me. I wasn't expecting such poor packaging.
Maybe I can stick that extra disc with another movie or something.

Guess I'll hang on to the Best Buy Steelbook and take back the Target copy. That thing is ugly.
