I hate to start a whole new thread, but I can't find one in the quick Google customer search, did Magnolia ever do a re-release of the first film and fix the subtitles? It's that what's contained in the two-pack?

If I recall, there was only one release. That double pack just had the same disc. No remaster or subtitle correction of any sort. Also just checked blu-ray.com and there's only one review of the initial release.

Was there a Canadian release? Another Region A option? I'd hate to have get an import disc over something as silly as the subtitles . Switching the region is annoying .

Get the import. They also screwed up the subtitles on t heir release of JCVD - I had to import that one, too.

What was wrong with the Subtitles of the release in question?

They were SDH, so they didn't just subtitle the foreign language dialogue, so you get [screams] [man typing on keyboard] [cars crashing].

I have the UK release, which I believe doesn't have that. I'll check later and see.

Sorry for the delay. Would have posted last night but my daughter and got caught up watching both of them. Couple of interesting things - one is that I have the UK copy of the sequel, District 13: Ultimatum released by Momentum, and the US edition of District B13 released by Magnolia. However, even though the US edition says SDH, it didn't have the descriptions, only dialogue. Same with the UK release. In fact, as you can see, both say they're English SDH, but after watching both last night, neither do the descriptions, only dialogue.

Odd, I remember there being a lot of controversy about the SDH subtitles on the U.S. release of part 1. Maybe there was a second pressing?

I remember buying it release day. I never heard any issues about the subs.
