Well that's somewhat promising. I'll excuse a handful of other missing tracks but GoMM HAS to be there.

I've always thought for shows like this where certain artists are holding things up, they should go back and pick a different, less famous tune (cheaper royalties) from the same era. It would beat the muzak crap. Of course this doesn't really work if the song is directly referenced by one of the characters. Of course that would take some effort on the studio's part.

Could cover versions work? I wonder the legalities with that.

So, two days out. Any reviews out there or anything that tackles the music issues?

I read that the GoMM track is where it is supposed to be.

It's a code they send in their daily emails that's a discount for an array of stuff. Valid for that day only. Rarely works for online orders.

DJariya, say the word and you can have my Promo Code. I already own the Digital HD copy of the series and don't think I'd buy anything else. Though I don't see that QL deal in the email with my code.

$36.99 for Quantum Leap.. Lowest on Amazon was $59.99 and it jumped up to $99.99 today... Hope it drops to the Fry's regular price of $41.99...

Re: Quantum Leap -- The Complete Series -- 2/17/17

This set never showed as available (either for shipping or in-store pick-up) on the Fry's website when the promo code was valid. Once it expired, they started accepting backorders at the $41.99 price. I thought that was still a decent deal, until I saw the cheapest shipping rate was the $8.99 "ultra saver" option.

In the past, I've always gotten free shipping at Fry's, regardless of how cheap the item was. I guess they've done away with that, as there is now a $49 minimum purchase requirement. Since I really wanted the Quantum Leap set, I browsed around and found some cheap blank DVD-Rs ($8.73 for 75 discs) to get me over the free shipping threshold. They're Phillips brand (old stock, apparently) and the reviews on them are terrible, so fingers crossed that I didn't throw my money away on defective garbage.

Even at $51 for the whole order, that's still cheaper than most places are selling the QL set for at the moment. I paid next to nothing for the original DVD seasons and have already sold two of them off for a $10 profit -- so I'll only be out about $40 for this blu-ray set.

They did away with free shipping quite a while ago. That's why I'm glad to have one within a 5 minute drive from where I work.

Re: Quantum Leap -- The Complete Series -- 2/17/17

Yeah, there's no Fry's in my state. I ordered a blu-ray from them last Thanksgiving and still got free shipping, but maybe that was just a promotion for the holidays?

Anyway, I decided to just cancel the order. I figure it's better to wait... especially since I'd like to read a few reviews first. If it's like the Miami Vice set, it should hit around $40 shipped (probably with a DeepDiscount code) sometime in the next few months. Besides, I never like having to buy filler items to get free shipping... especially when the item I really want is on backorder.

Re: Quantum Leap -- The Complete Series -- 2/17/17

I've read that some of the episodes were originally aired to plan for reruns to air the following weeks, so the leaps at the end were reused from previous episodes.

In these cases, did the reruns that aired the following weeks put new leaps at the end of the episodes to tie into the new episodes the weeks after them?

Also, if this is the case, are those leaps included anywhere in these sets, or did they just use footage from the start of the new episodes, so it's not really necessary to have the footage elsewhere?

Sorry if this is really confusing.

Re: Quantum Leap -- The Complete Series -- 2/17/17

^ Thanks for posting. I bought this set off eBay last week and just got it in yesterday. After cashback, I paid less than $40 shipped.

The show looks pretty good. It seems apparent no remastering was done, but the colors pop a bit more than the DVDs and close-ups display better facial detail. As that review mentions, the discs require a bit of reshuffling. They put the first two discs of season 2 in the season 1 case, causing all the other discs to be in the wrong position across the five cases.

No news on what music is restored and what is still missing?
