Same here, but I may hold off until there's a UHD release. Seems kind of weird Sony would give this a 4K remaster, yet not release it in 4K.

Never saw it aside from some clips. From what I know of it mostly from pop culture... I'm not sure I would. Kind of comes off like sappy stuff that I wouldn't jive with.

That's happened with a number of titles...probably going to come out on 4K later.

Yeah, it's unfortunate that that stuff entered the pop culture lexicon with the force it did. Even I, as a fan of the film, groan and roll my eyes at the thought of those elements. They actually keep me from pulling it out more often and spinning it.

But when I finally do, I realize just how minuscule those elements are in relation to the film as a whole. It's Cameron Crowe at the top of his game and it's a very conscientious and well crafted film. Any schmaltz (or annoying bits like the "Show me the money" schtick ) is actually dramatically satisfying and well placed.

Easily one of the strongest films of the '90's IMO.

Yet another title I'm going to upgrade even though I still haven't sat down and watched the earlier release yet. Screenshots from the newer transfer have been around a while and there is definitely a noticeable uptick in detail.

Oh, Sony will. Pretty much any movie they remaster in 4K is now just them waiting to release it ok UHD disc. Elysium is another title that will probably come out within the next year unless there's some kind of deal Sony has with Amazon of some sort of exclusivity.

For those looking for this, apparently it's a Best Buy exclusive at the moment

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/jerry-ma...?skuId=5579392

It's $14.99

Don't know how long the exclusivity window is.

It's alittle sappy but the movie has real heart. It's not cynical like so many movies and TV shows today. This was the last of the pre-9/11 era of good guy characters, not grey characters that pervade everything today. It's has a good mixture of drama and comedy as its a hard thing to do in movies.
