Per their ad Target's price is $19.99.

You're right. The Target exclusive is showing $19.99 in the circular but it's $22.99 on the Target site which is weird.

Their online prices don't often match until the day an item can be bought in store. Expect to see it change to $19.99 at some point tonight or tomorrow morning.

Since there's no retailer exclusive extra content for this, I just ordered the BD off Amazon.

Never been a steelbook collector, although I have a few of them.

Got my pick-up confirmation for the Steelbook I ordered!

Can't wait to snag it during my lunch break tomorrow! :)

I'm still glad with my Vudu plus extras purchase @ $14.99...

Really? Over all that and a Blu Ray disc, DVD and a Steelbook for $5 more?

OldBoy 05-09-16 09:56 PM

Re: DEADPOOL: Steelbook

really. i could care less about packaging, for the most part, anymore.

At that point, why not just wait and buy the digital copy code from another member in the trade forum for $5 - $8?

Joke is on me -- got my copy in the mail and it's smashed and dented to hell. Was able to preorder another copy tonight and will swap it out tomorrow.

That's surprising. Usually they package them really well and have a plastic slip over the metal.

Re: DEADPOOL: Steelbook

My copy came in a cardboard envelope thing. Basically it was cardboard wrapped tight around the steelbook. No extra packaging at all, except for the cellophane sealing the steelbook. If it took any hits in transit, it wouldn't have had much, if any, protection. But it came in in perfect shape.

It's been hard to tell in the pictures and videos I've seen. Is this steelbook embossed? Raised letters and graphics? I thought I had read about one version being that way, but not sure if it was the BB exclusive.

How many copies have there been per store. Does this seem to be a limited run or one of those where they still have copies a month after release day?

It's not embossed, the embossed version was German, it also had the spine lettering correct.

Re: DEADPOOL: Steelbook

Target's exclusive is discounted this week to $19.99, so it's less than $20 out the door after that Cartwheel coupon.

Ringmaster 05-10-16 10:30 AM

Re: DEADPOOL: Steelbook

I ended up buying the Target exclusive. I Pre-ordered the Steelbook but I'm canceling it because the discounts at Target (and red Blu Ray case) were too tempting to pass up. I got it for $16.76 after Cartwheel, team member discount, and Red Card. The cheap bastard in me loves a good deal!

Re: DEADPOOL: Steelbook

Early reports are that there seems to be about 10 to 60 copies of the steelbook per store. But they're being picked up quickly.

Thanks. Assuming they still have one when I get there I'm going with the Target version. That Cartwheel deal sold me. Somebody else will get the In Store Pickup steelbooks I never pick up at Best Buy.

Geddlo 05-10-16 11:15 AM

Re: DEADPOOL: Steelbook

My bestbuy had a bunch left on a secondary display towards the back of the store.
The main display up front had only 1 steel book when I got there.

Re: DEADPOOL: Steelbook

My BB had plenty - I wouldn't worry about finding a copy if you can get to a store by early afternoon.

Glad I did in store pick up, I didn't see any other copies on the shelf.

Picked up Targets version. BB can shove it charging $5 more for steels.

Re: DEADPOOL: Steelbook

Well, I picked up my steelbook for $19.99 pre-ordered minus $5 rewards so I am happy at $14.95. Tons available on the shelf but glad I pre-ordered to belay any fears that I would miss out....price matching that one-day dip to $19.99 and the rewards certificate makes the cost go down a bit easier. I doubt anyone is gonna get rich buying up multiples of this one.

You know, you're joking around about this, but it does come with a two-disc red (eco) Blu-ray case and no sleeved DVD. That's kinda nice.
