In terms of the tech-specs - it's not demo all the way through - the audio portion is not reference.

Weird that the digital copy of this film, of all films didn't come out early when just about every movie has a digital-exclusive purchase window of a few weeks prior to BR release. |

Directed by Laurent Bouzereau? Fuck yeah. His stuff is fantastic -- even his Making-of documentary about 1941 was entertaining.

If he's buying physical media, don't look a gift horse in the mouth. Just be thankful.

Hey, if someone wants to do both, by all means go with it. But trying to convince others of the virtues of Vudu and not putting their money where their mouth is, is a tad hypocritical.

Re: Star Wars: The Force Awakens - April 5th, 2016
Well, according to those specs, it looks like the read through is a 4 minute piece, which is disappointing.

I wonder if it was a true read-through or more a marketing thing, having the whole cast together. It was a cool photo that got released and sure got nerd boners popping.

Re: Star Wars: The Force Awakens - April 5th, 2016
that full read through would have been awesome!
|
Re: Star Wars: The Force Awakens - April 5th, 2016
Probably would have been 3-5 hours of hey recorded the whole thing. I doubt they read straight through it and not stopped at places from time to time. 4 minutes is good, I'm sure it'll have some good stuff.
Or maybe they'll have the whole thing on the upcoming 3D release. Wouldn't that be comical. |

According to the articles I have read, It was a full read through. Since Hammill didn't have any lines they had him read the stage directions.

Re: Star Wars: The Force Awakens - April 5th, 2016
Will the standard release be $19.99 at most stores except Best Buy where it is $24.99?
|
Re: Star Wars: The Force Awakens - April 5th, 2016
I bet Best Buy drops to 19.99 but not until release day. They don't automatically adjust pre-order prices and they are probably banking on most people not bothering with it if they pre-ordered through them.
I will wait until Tuesday and just pick it up locally somewhere for 19.99. |
Re: Star Wars: The Force Awakens - April 5th, 2016
Glad that the standard edition is using the theatrical poster art. Already have my copy pre-ordered from Amazon and looking forward to watching the film again!
|
Re: Star Wars: The Force Awakens - April 5th, 2016
Get ready to take it in the @ss from Best Buy if you want that steelbook next week. $27.99 for that version or $19.99 for the regular version per their ad for next week.
I also mentioned it in the Hateful Eight thread, but Best Buy is getting ridiculous on their steelbook pricing. $25 for Hunger Games & Hateful Eight and $28 for Star Wars. 10 Cloverfield Lane and Deadpool are currently listed for $29.99. How did we go from $19.99 Marvel 3D steelbooks to this?? |
Re: Star Wars: The Force Awakens - April 5th, 2016
I canceled my steelbook order and ordered the regular version from Amazon. I liked the artwork better and since there's no additional content at BB, no reason to get it from there.

Best Buy's advertisement for next week also mentions there is a bonus disc as well.

Looks like that is accurate if the Blu-Ray.com review is correct (and why wouldn't it be?), I guess because it's the scene most people would want to see since it features Han and Chewie.
Sigh. |

Just a reminder, you can also use DMR points in exchange for a $5 coupon.
|
Re: Star Wars: The Force Awakens - April 5th, 2016
Here is what Taget now has on their site.
Please note: Bonus content is high-definition digital format. Your Target Exclusive packaging will have a code inside with instructions on how to redeem the Target Exclusive bonus content on Disney Movies Anywhere (DMA). If you don't have a DMA account, you will be asked to create an account (free of charge). |

http://www.disneymovierewards.go.com...mr-coupon-6757 It's not clear if that is a coupon that can be used at Best Buy or only within Disney's system. |
