I wonder what the future of the franchise is? Worldwide, it only trails T2 in box office take, even though if you'd ask around people would consider it a 'disappointment."

Apparently in China it did gangbusters. They have some sort of weird fetish for terrible American robot films.

I couldn't find it on the Zavvi site. Do you have a link?

Yeah, it's not searchable anymore. Zavvi pulls sold-out items out of the search criteria. I still had the link because I happened to write a blog post about the SteelBook after it initially went up for order.

90 min exclusive bonus disc at Best Buy - "The World of Terminator: Genisys." That is a pretty big size chunk of exclusive content. I wonder if it will be on a DVD or Blu Ray?

Last I read, it's been shelved. US sales were too low to warrant another movie.

Make it quickly, because I'm here to tell you, buying steelbooks from eBay scalpers sucks.

My Target never got the steelbook for some reason. I just went to BB and got the one with the 90-min. bonus disc. Hey, at least it has a cool holographic cover.

Bonus disc is a Blu-Ray. Makes this a 3 disc set in a custom lenticular slipcover.

Holy shit!!!

I just started looking through the Best Buy bonus disc.

It features a fucking 2 hour and 20 minute documentary on the making of the movie. Color me surprised.

Glad I picked this edition up. The over 90 minutes of content was a gross understatement. Every other retailer got screwed with bonus content. Best Buy must have paid Paramount for some exclusivity of this documentary.

It's 90min of exclusive content mixed with the other basic featurettes.

Re: Terminator: Genisys -- November 10, 2015

is the bonus disc housed the way a normal blu ray case holds a disc? (i.e snaps into the circular casing) Or does it come in a paper sleeve?

I don't know if Best Buy does this, but I remember times when Target would feature an exclusive bonus disc that would come in a paper sleeve inside the case. Like with the Django Unchained steelbook for instance.

I ask this mainly because I picked up the Target steelbook today hoping the bonus disc might pop up on Ebay for cheap.

ugh. caught between a rock and a hard place. usually bonus content would always win out, but the Target steelbook looks really killer.

It's stored like a 3 disc set.

Movie, bonus disc and then DVD copy. No sleeve.

Decided to go with the Target Steelbook since I really loved the artwork. Inside has art as well!

I had to go to two local Targets to find one in decent shape. Seems like every copy I ran into had paint scraped off or dents.

Normal 3 disc case.

Got my copy mailed to me and it was actually bent slightly in half which caused a dimple on the bottom of the case. Was able to bend it back to normal (without opening it) but haven't been able to fully get rid of the resulting dimple. This is probably the thinnest steelbook I have ever received. I suspect that has a lot to do with the number of copies that have been damaged. It's likely going back to the store since I like the BB version.
