Let's be real here. He'll probably use this as an opportunity to lament the fact that B:TAS is not on BD.

I'll have to give my dvds a spin to see how well the quality holds up. How they look will probably determine whether or not I bother to upgrade. Great series though. I think JLU and Batman stand head and shoulders above the rest of the DCAU.

Nah, I can live with that, I just wish that the BTAS complete series was back in print.

I disagree, I think that with the failed Superman projects piling up around DC's ankles, STAS looks better with every passing year.

I want all of 3 shows on BD. I REALLY REALLY enjoyed the Supes show as a kid.

I'll have to give Superman another try. I've never made it though the entire run. I always end up getting bored with it and start watching Batman again. Either way, my intentions weren't really to downgrade Superman as much as they were pointing out how great Batman and JLU are.

I've grown to really enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of Superman: The Animated Series. The writing on it probably isn't as tight or thrilling as Batman: TAS, but the characters' personalities are all perfect.

I loved Justice League Unlimited. This is one of my most desired Blu-rays and has been for nearly a decade.

Superman: The Animated Series is pretty good but I'd still say its a pretty big drop compared to the overall quality of Batman: The Animated Series. Something about Batman: The Animated Series just feels timeless and so perfect nothing in the rest of the DCAU quite matches it to me (even though I love the various shows and films).

That's awesome I'm in for this as well, Justice League Unlimited is my favorite DCAU show, even over Batman.

Dredging up a very old thread, look what appeared in last week's line of DC comic books as an ad. That will complete the entire run of this Justice League series on Blu-ray.

I would have thought DC cartoon shows would have done well on bluray. But I guess not, if the last several releases were all done via Warner Archive (ie. Brave and the Bold, Beware the Batman, etc ...).

I'm going to assume that there was some mod work going on here because I can't imagine a 2 month old thread being bumped with old information really counts as "dredging up a really old thread."

As for the DC shows performance on blu-ray, Justice League season 1 did notoriously bad on BD. It came out pretty early in Blu-ray's lifespan, it was expensive and it was released in 4:3 instead of 16:9, which annoyed some people. It's also probably the weakest season of the show. Warner Archive is actually the perfect venue for these. WB gets to keep all of the profits for themselves and the hardcore fans of the show are going to find them whether they are available at retail or not.

As for the other DC shows that preceded it, they were shot on film and produced for standard def, weren't they? In order to do BD releases for them, WB would have to go back and scan the original film elements, which costs money.

I looked for the right thread but all I could find was the one for season one. It's no problem. I expect to see a ton of Justice League-related releases in 2016 as Batman v Superman hits and the coming Justice League movie starts getting marketed.

So are these burned or pressed discs?

Warner Archive's BDs are actual pressed discs, not BD-Rs.

Release date please! I hope as well as this we get a remastered Batman:TAS (and Superman:TAS) on Blu. Would be nice.

This thread getting bumped reminded me, what happened to hanshotfirst? Haven't seen him around for a while. Did the melancholy and the infinite sadness finally get the better of him? Maybe he's still here and he just rebooted, taffer style.
