Picked up the 3D version at Best Buy today. It was the best price of the stores around me.

I also checked out the tins while I was there. They're a lot bigger in diameter than I expected. Much bigger than the Total Recall DVD tin.

I also picked up the Target version with the bonus disc. It's 3 discs in separate cardboard sleeves. The movie on BD, the movie on DVD, the bonus disc (DVD)

You can only get the bonus DVD with the tin, not the regular packaging.

I got it with the regular set. And yeah, the extra is 30+ minutes, I haven't had a chance to put it in yet.

Interesting. None of the regular editions at my local Target had the bonus disc tag.

Oh well, I'm fine with the tin.

Is this movie worth a blind buy? Never saw it in the theaters, some reviewers give it a thumbs up saying it's the best of the series, some give it a thumbs down saying it's the worst of the series. All told it gets 4.2 out of 5 stars after 1,378 reviews at Amazon. Can that be trusted? Is it worth a blind buy?

It's the best JP since the first one, if that helps at all.

I thought it's was better than JP3. Worth a blind buy.

It's dumb fun, don't expect the elegance of the original Jurassic Park and you'll enjoy yourself.

I suspect could have been asking for proof (pic) that there are regular case 2D versions with the bonus disc. I don't have a pic, and the Target site does not have a listing for it, but I can confirm that they exist. I picked one up on Wednesday evening. Same exclusive sticker on the outside of the shiny embossed slipcover as the one in the tin pic.

It has the same "fun" as the first one, since we finally get to see Jurassic Park as a working tourist attraction. That was one of the flaws of the first two sequels, and will most likely be the flaw of the sequel to this movie.

I actually think it's the flaw of this movie too. We see very little of the operating park, and almost all of the action takes place in the jungle.

I also just picked up the non-tin 2D with the bonus disc. Here's a pic of it :)

Re: Jurassic World - 10/20/15

Target only had a couple of the non-tin versions with the bonus disc label on the front. I was going to buy one of those instead of the tin, but got paranoid that some had switched slipcovers because the UPCs were the same as non-exclusives.

The tin isn't bad looking, but I fucking hate discs stored in envelopes or sleeves. The movie DVD was scratched to shit, and the bonus DVD had a couple of little scratches on it.

Wonder if they would let me return the tin and exchange it for a regular edition? (I would keep the bonud disc in case I couldn't get another one.)
