I don't want to turn this into another Star Wars thread, but I'd disagree that they look amazing. Ignoring all of the SE changes, the quality of the transfers just aren't that good. Especially when one considers Lucasfilm's reputation as innovators of film technology. The clean-up was done by Lowry, who's automated cleaning software is notorious for eating up detail. Add in the fact that the colors and the brightness/contrast have been f'd with five ways from Sunday, and you have what adds up to a very disappointing presentation. In fact, people on various forums have done tests on the image quality and they show that the picture on the BDs is only putting out about 720p level detail.

Looked more like Rupert Holmes to me
If you would have told me 10 years ago that there would be a high-def version of Star Wars and I didn't own it, I would have said you were nuts.

I was remembering the initial reviews and my initial viewings, so if further study has shown that then my data is out of date.
And it's still valid to say they'll look better at home than in store given the lack of calibration done on store displays.

Sometimes I look at my collection and see titles like Curse of Chucky, Snow White & the Huntsman and Prometheus and wonder what's wrong with me.
