These Justice League cartoons, and all animated DC output after 2002 for that matter, are created at 1080P resolution. You are getting the original digital master when you buy them on Blu-ray.

Like most TV shot with HDCAM, in other words?

Preorder is up at Amazon for $36. That seemed really cheap, especially for 3 seasons, so I put an order in.

Great price, i'm in too.

They are digitally animated at 1080P so they are one generation better than TV on HDCAM.

Best Buy has it for $29.99 and Amazon is now at $32.39.

hanshotfirst1138 10-03-15 05:05 PM

Does this retain all of the extras?

I guess I never noticed that this isn't the complete Justice League series. I know the first two seasons were released on blu but, the first season wasn't widescreen. I would've been nice if they did a complete blu set like the dvd set they did a few years ago.

This is essentially s3-4 of Justice league isn't it? Only they added new villlains and heroes to make it "unlimited"?

hanshotfirst1138 10-18-15 07:25 AM

JLU ran three seasons, they lump the first two together. It picks up after S2 of JL (they were going to do a DTV to bride that's gap which they unfortunately never did), so it's essentially seasons 3-5.

How do seasons 1-2 JL size up on DVD versus the BD's?

I need want all but thinking of just getting the DVD's

Well it looks good in HD via Netflix. I can't imagine the DVDs can stack up to HD.

The DVDs of season 2 weren't anamorphic.

Justice League sings on Blu-ray. I would hate to watch them on DVD when they look so good on Blu-ray. These aren't ancient cartoons that predate HD, they were intended to be seen at 1080P resolution.

Let me agree with The Stranger that Justice League looks incredible on Blu-ray. The second season may look a little better, but if it is, it is not by much.

The Warner Archive Blu-ray releases are all normal pressed discs. Only the DVDs are burned DVD-Rs.

And tons of bootlegs to deal with on eBay. I would estimate a good 80% of the Batman: Animated Series complete sets being sold on eBay are counterfeits. I have no idea why Warner pulled that set so quickly out of print.

They're impressive bootlegs if so, most of the pictures look surprisingly good.
