Yes, I had read that those comments and the church scenes were trimmed and/or cut in various Asian and Latin American countries. But the digital (legit) US one has those intact. I would assume the blu is as well. I'll find out when I pick it up on Sunday.

Looks like this will be on sale for $12.49 Father's Day weekend at Target for anyone interested.
Apparently there is also a 10% Cartwheel discount to get that even lower.

what I find funny (okay, "interesting") about the Church scene shown in the TV spots is that the explosion bit digitally erases all the dead bodies on the floor - anyone else notice this?

not that impressed that the bluray audio seems to have mixed the dialogue too low - you raise the volume but then the action scenes kick in, and you nearly deafen yourself.

I think that's the case on Heat, and I guess pretty much every other Mann film. It'd be great if they remixed the audio for Heat's 20th anniversary release, but it's WB...

Well, it took them 25 years to get Goodfellas right, so there's hope for Heat in 5 years. Kingsman will have to wait a couple of decades at the very least.

Anyway, it isn't Warner Bros' place to remix Heat. The dialogue in Heat is mixed low because it's one of Michael Mann's artistic affections to make the dialogue in his movies hard to hear. He's done this for his last 5 or 6 movies in a row.

All this ass play makes me want to see this real soon but I have such a backlog, including 4 actual from Netflix. Why they keep sending me a fourth disc is beyond me though...

My girlfriend and I watched it on Wednesday and I paused the film halfway through to tinker with my audio settings. There were points of the film where the dialogue was nearly inaudible due to the mixing.

Okay, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who noticed this.

This movie isn't Heat, nor was it directed by Michael Mann, nor was it released by Warner Bros., so I'm not sure what the point of this non-sequitur is.

I saw this twice too - the first time in 5.1 - I found it restrained compared to the second time in Dolby Atmos which was louder, more aggressive and used the ceiling sourced speakers to very creative effect - when the champagne is poured into the glass the sound of the bubbles/liquid extends to the ceiling speakers closest to the screen. In both instances the dialogue was always intelligible and not drowned out by the action sound cues.

I'm surprised that Amazon hasn't pricematched this or American Sniper yet.
