Had it on pre-order for a few weeks, looking forward to the commentary and the short.

Received it from Amazon today. Very different tone in the short film at least with the atmosphere and colors. Otherwise it's mostly the same script.

It is the same script. That's what makes it so confusing that it was nominated for Adapted Screenplay it's not adapted from anything other than itself.

I've read the script and the short has a few deviations in lines. I understand that originally the script was written in advance of the short, however the submitted script for the feature was dated September 2013 (about a year after the short was produced). It contains other portions that were excised (even from the available version). So while it really shouldn't be adapted, it appeared to be tweaked a bit in the year that followed, so that technicality may be why it is categorized as adapted, since the short was a "pre-existing" piece of work.

It was good, and very much worth watching, but the kind of movie that I really don't need to see more than once.

That was going to be my question. I really want to see this movie (mostly for Simmons' performance) but I'm not sure I want to buy it because I'm not sure how much replay value it will have.

i'm the opposite, i think repeat viewings will be just as mesmerizing. i bought it and can't wait to see it again, probably this weekend.
