Concerned about the guy doing the Joker, he's done voice work before but not very much (and doesn't look like anything memorable). But Tara Strong is pulling triple duty, kudos to her (and she knows what she is doing). Tom Kenny is doing Penguin which he always does well.

I just watched Gotham by Gaslight.

Very weird Batman movie. Re-writing Batman and Gotham as a Victorian-era period piece was a little odd. Plus, it's Batman facing Jack the Ripper.

and the big reveal at the end that Jack the Ripper was:

Spoiler:

Commissioner Gordon

was a big WTF? I don't know it tried something different in the Batman lore and I appreciate that, but I can't say I loved this cartoon. It was okay.

That twist is what makes Gotham By Gaslight.

Agreed and

Spoiler:
It's a WTF moment and it's not. There are a lot of moments if you go back and watch it that start leading you down the path of Gordon. Things he says, how they frame his wife, that kinda thing. It's all very suspicious, but even after the killing of Ivy which was the first murder in the film, Batman suspects a man that is 6'3 250lbs and the only guy in the picture that fits that description is Gordon...we are just lead down the path where we think it might be Strange or Dent.

This gets a release in May!

Prepare to witness the Dark Knight, alongside many of his most famed allies and infamous foes, in an eye-popping anime display you’ve never seen before when Warner Bros. Japan, DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment present Batman Ninja. The all-new, feature-length animated film arrives on Digital starting April 24, 2018, and Blu-ray™ Steelbook, Blu-ray™Combo Pack and DVD on May 8, 2018. The film will be available in 4K UHD for Digital only in a release planned for Summer 2018. Batman Ninja is PG-13 for sequences of violence and action, and for some suggestive material.

Plus, if you factor in that that many cops are shown to be corrupt throughout he film, and given the era the movies are set in, it's not much of a stretch that the commissioner would make a great cover for a serial killer that only kills "bad people".

Personally I thought Gaslight was one of the better DC Amianted movies in a long time. I was rather disappointed in the JL Dark and Harley Quinn movies.

I think what I really liked about GBG is that it stands on it's own. They took a big risk making it into a totally different story from the graphic novel. Hopefully, people go out and read the novel and compare the two.

Same here. I also wanted to see how it compared with the graphic novel, so I rented it from the library yesterday.

i would be all over collecting the remaining Steels of these, but as someone mentioned earlier, i think, in this thread, most of these DC animated features don't have replay value outside of WW. i watch it once and most i don't even remember or really care to revisit which is a shame considering i like the material behind it...

I'm guessing a price mistake, Suicide Squad: Hell To Pay 4K/UHD for $18.90

I want to say...not really. Point in fact, I was able to secure Batman Gotham by Gaslight 4k disc only for $12 (including shipping) from Ebay. It came with the case art & slipcover as well. I just slipped the 4k into my steelbook and took the dvd out.

I think they are going to price these animated 4k's at about $20 going forward. Just makes sense if they want to drive sales a bit.

BTW...so I have a 4k Case art and 4k Slipcover and a DVD for Gotham by Gaslight. I'll send it to somebody for the cost of shipping ($2.66 right?) if somebody wants it.

Sorry to say, but you're crazy. These will continue to be $24.99 on release day, just like the steelbooks have gone up in price, not down.

But if you don't mind waiting, of course they will be on sale. Just like Batman and Harley Quinn, the 4K version was $14.99 during Black Friday.

Re: DC Animated Universe Films

This is just laziness. Reusing Harley's drawing from the previous film and just making some cosmetic changes? Seriously?

BTW, the Batman Ninja steelbook on Amazon is down to Target range @ $19.99 for pre-order. Probably time to lock it in.

Cool. Thanks for the info.

edit: when I did the pre order I came across this and checked youtube. Has this already been shown on CW?

It is on CW Seed. Watched all episodes not too long after the Crisis on Earth X crossover.
