Things I never needed to fucking see in a superhero movie: 1. A woman having sex with a demon. 2. Superheroes playing Dance Dance Revolution 3. Anime-style transformation sequences that wandered in from frigging Sailor Moon. Also, I know that Starfire is one of the the most needlessly sexualized characters in comics, but dressing Raven like that when she's supposed to be a teenager was amazingly unnecessary. The demonic realm stuff was cool, but I wish the designers had gone a little more nuts with it. The voice cast is still kind of "meh." I don't get why they continue to insist on using O'Mara as Batman. He just doesn't have the gravity. There was some cool stuff in this, but it had too many characters and ideas and was undercooked. The rare moments of actual character development, though a bit secondhand, were nice. This new universe really needs some actual development and fleshing out instead of constant threats of the week. I just watched this last night and I thought it was cool. It reminded me of an anime film - nothing specific - just that when you introduce demons and Spoiler:

Any 'DC Comics Vault' episodes from the HD era have been in high-def for quite a long while now. We've never seen any DC animation from the '90s in HD, and I'd be surprised to see that change now. I'd be thrilled but am not optimistic.

Just piping in to say that Justice League vs. Teen Titans was a lot better than I thought it would be, and clearly the best of the recent DCAU movies (although that's not saying much).

‘Justice League Dark’ Will Be The Next DC Animated Movie
While we await on more news for the rumored big screen adaptation, it has been revealed that the next DC animated movie will be none other than Justice League Dark, but that’s pretty much all that we know about the project for now. It looks like the studio wanted to keep it a surprise for the home release of Batman: The Killing Joke, but the British Board of Film Classification spilled the beans by revealing the additional material of the movie, which will include a “A Sneak Peak at Justice League Dark.” The running time of the sneak peak is listed as 7 minutes and 50 seconds. No other details about the project have been revealed as of yet, but we’ll keep you updated. We’re probably going to find out more once Batman: The Killing Joke will be released on Digital HD on July 23 before it arrives on Blu-Ray and DVD on August 2th, unless we get an official announcement by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment soon. |

To be honest I'm interested in some of the characters but overall I'm not terribly interested in a Justice League Dark live action film. I think an animated feature would be interesting though as the DCAU has enough depth that they can do offshoot films like this on occasion.

Batman: The Killing Joke Getting One-Night Theatrical Release

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment is teaming up with Fathom Events for a one-night-only release in movie theaters across the country on Monday, July 25, 2016 in two showings at 7:30pm and 10pm local time. Remember, The Killing Joke is rated R, and standard cinema restrictions will apply. The screenings hit just three days after the film's world premiere at San Diego Comic-Con on July 22, and one day before the movie is available in Digital HD on July 26, so fans who can't attend Comic-Con still have the opportunity to see the movie before it's officially released.
