Well if that's their intended purpose, they're taking a damn long time getting us to double dip. It's mindboggling how they never released the 3D of Frozen, even after the buzz generated from the rumors they would release it in October. I'm just wondering how well their 3D releases are doing in Europe and Asia since they keep releasing them there.

Re: 'Big Hero 6' (Feb. 24th)
What the hell is up with the last extra being DMA only? Shit, they're migrating to everything being digital only.

Re: 'Big Hero 6' (Feb. 24th)
Sounds like your basic featurettes on there. Oh well, I'm no longer big on features these days either so I guess Disney knows what they're doing. 3D or packed extras aren't going to make a big difference on purchases, so might as well go cheap on these releases.

Re: 'Big Hero 6' (Feb. 24th)
Is 3D bigger abroad than it is here (or at least in demand enough to demand more of a premium or something)? Otherwise I don't get it.

Re: 'Big Hero 6' (Feb. 24th)
It absolutely is.

I used to think that maybe Europe was an intellectual oasis or something. Then I saw that Battlefield Earth was on Blu-ray there ;).

Re: 'Big Hero 6' (Feb. 24th)
It is? I'll buy it if it's the theatrical version.
Japan has always had the best media releases- AND they still have Tower Records over there! |
Re: 'Big Hero 6' (Feb. 24th)
And all of their blu's are about 3x as expensive as anywhere else.

Re: 'Big Hero 6' (Feb. 24th)
i didn't even realized Frozen didn't have a 3D release here in the states? i guess i assumed since i imported for the SteelBook. will Zavvi have one for this release?

Re: 'Big Hero 6' (Feb. 24th)
Nothing listed by them at this time. But considering they have released one for just about every new Disney release, I'm guessing they will for this movie - and in 3D.

I guess this release is another example that Disney has given up on the 3D home market here in NA. Was Planes the last 3D home release disc by Disney here?

Re: 'Big Hero 6' (Feb. 24th)
both High Def Digest and blu-ray.com have revealed the audio specs to be lossless 5.1 sound [ugh- slams forehead on desk repeatedly: "where's the 7.1 mix?????"]
|
Re: 'Big Hero 6' (Feb. 24th)
according to Amazon (Canada) the audio is 7.1 surround - let's see if it's the same for the US version.

Re: 'Big Hero 6' (Feb. 24th)
Are they just doing the digital 3D like they did with Frozen. I'll still pick up the blu for this but may have to try to talk my parents into picking it up on Vudu in 3D since their LG is 3D.
