Still would like to see this, but also with the extended TV cut. The version that the SciFi channel played years ago was the first one I saw and I'd still love to own that one.

I just really want them to release The Thing so they can complete their set of 70s-80s Carpenter perfection.

Is the Blue Underground release of Bad Boy Bubby out of print, or do you think Scream Factory could do something with the movie that BU didn't?

Re: Shout! & Scream Factory Wish List

Too bad Shout doesn't start a new sub-label called Punch Factory or Kicks Factory to brand their action and martial arts titles, and then start picking from stuff like this (with apologies if I'm duplicating anyone else's picks):

HARD TARGET
SUDDEN DEATH
TIME COP
DOUBLE IMPACT
INVASION USA
MISSING IN ACTION
FIREWALKER
CODE OF SILENCE
FORCED VENGEANCE
KING SOLOMON'S MINES (85)
NINE DEATHS OF THE NINJA
DEATH WISH 2, 3 and 4
10 TO MIDNIGHT
MESSENGER OF DEATH
KINJITE
MURPHY'S LAW
THE MECHANIC
TREASURE OF THE 4 CROWNS (in 3D)
COMIN' AT YA! (In 3D)
SIEGE OF FIREBASE GLORIA
HARLEY DAVIDSON AND THE MARLBORO MAN (EDIT: Shout just announced this for May 19!) https://www.shoutfactory.com/film/ac...e-marlboro-man
THE TAKING OF BEVERLY HILLS (heheh)
CLEOPATRA JONES 1 & 2 (Warner, so unlikely)
NEMESIS
ROBOCOP 2
MANHUNTER
TRESPASS (92)
THE HARD WAY (91)
RICOCHET
SMALL SOLDIERS
MIDNIGHT RUN
CONVOY
SWITCHBLADE SISTERS
COFFY, FOXY BROWN, SHEBA BABY, FRIDAY FOSTER
TRUCK TURNER
HAMMER
DETROIT 9000
SLAUGHTER / SLAUGHTER's BIG RIPOFF

And some others:
BORDELLO OF BLOOD / DEMON KNIGHT
BILL & TED 1 & 2 (especially 2)
BAGDAD CAFE
HONKYTONK FREEWAY
MATINEE
THE BURBS
AMAZON WOMEN ON THE MOON
INNOCENT BLOOD (Warner, so probably not)
INNERSPACE (ditto)
CHOPPING MALL
CORVETTE SUMMER
SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES
THE BLACK HOLE
INTO THE NIGHT (85)
ROLLER BOOGIE
XANADU (bonus feature: TOOMORROW)
THE APPLE
LAMBADA / SALSA

I'm aware that quite a few of these shows are already available on Blu in North America, but in rather barebones form, and a few others are available in region-coded U.K. special editions. Still, Shout could do wonders . . .

Ahhh I would love to see them release Manhunter. What a strange movie.
Shivers also, and Rabin and any other early Cronenberg movies.

Re: Shout! & Scream Factory Wish List

Here's a project that would be beyond awesome (but will never happen):

THE STEPHEN KING FILM COLLECTION

Carrie
Salem's Lot/A Return to Salem's Lot
The Shining
Creepshow
Cujo
The Dead Zone
Christine
Children of the Corn
Firestarter
Cat's Eye
Silver Bullet
Maximum Overdrive
Stand by Me
Creepshow 2
The Running Man
Pet Sematary
(...stopping at 1989... too much typing...)

Each blu-ray would be a special edition with either a Stephen King commentary or interview. (Wouldn't you kill to hear King do a commentary for The Shining?)

That is actually a pretty solid idea, though the rights are all over the place.

Re: Shout! & Scream Factory Wish List

Quite a few of your wishlist titles HAVE been released in other regions. DEAD ZONE just got a pretty good Aussie release, there's also an Italian release with a lot of EE. What's wrong with the current blu of THE THING? The UK has a great release of SHIVERS, although it's been cut by a few seconds. The NEMESIS trilogy has been released in Germany, although it's a poor encode, at least it's finally in panavision. There's a UK release of COFFEE's sequel, FOXY BROWN. There's a piss-poor DNR'd to death Italian release of MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE... We need a good release of that, I'd agree. The same company released a *wonderful* looking encode of CAT'S EYE in a stunning panavision print. There's an excellent Japanese release of NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD '68.

Not enough features. The making of feature there is relies on u-play or whatever the hell that is.

Re: Shout! & Scream Factory Wish List

Sure, one could make a good case for a stacked edition of THE THING, as the current Blu does have encoding issues (DNR), low bitrate, etc. As it's probably my favorite horror film of the '80s, I'd certainly purchase a remastered, high-bitrate, new encode, from the OCN of it!

The HD-DVD version of THE THING actually looks quite a bit better than the Blu, so it seems that's the best version we've currently got in the US.

Not sure if there are other Blus in other regions (Japan?) with better encodes.

I think that UK BD release solved that problem, and is region-free, unless I've been misinformed.

Re: Shout! & Scream Factory Wish List

So, we had what feels like 800 releases of Army of Darkness on DVD. We've only had one US Blu-ray. I don't see why Shout! couldn't put out an uber ultimate edition comparable to the superior French BD with both cuts of the movie and a wad of special features.

The US BD leaves a lot to be desired.
