Thomas Tull said Edwards was planning to assemble a DC of the film. Edwards has also said they cut lots of footage that would be on the BD. Also, the dearth of worthy bonus content for such a big film seems to indicate they're holding better features back, to me at least.

i just canceled my 3D order and got the MetalPak™. figured the 3D wasn't so worth it on this and love me a novelty MetalPak™ with the voiced recorder thingie...

^ I agree - I thought the conversion was pretty poor and not worth it - I had to see it as such, to hear it in Dolby Atmos though.

I saw it in both 2D & 3D and there was probably a single scene that was worth the 3D.

Target has a 30 minute documentary titled "Godzilla: Rebirth of an Icon." That's worth $3 extra bucks to me.

I thought there was supposed to be a Steelbook (or Steelpack whatever) release? Went to Best Buy on my lunch hour and all they had were the regular cases, same thing at Target.

From what I've read, the only store that got the metal pack is FYE. It's already back ordered at Amazon. WB might be having some distribution issues with it.

It wouldn't surprise me if distributors are consciously limiting availability to retailers for release week, taking a page out of Nintendo's marketing playbook. The delay creates an aura of scarcity and a signal to consumers it's a desirable product. I've noticed it more and more with media releases in the past five years.

well, i heard the 3D didn't add anything at all and was a poor post-convert. plus, i am a sucker for unique packaging like this...

I actually did the same thing and skipped the 3D, got the Target one instead.

Are there two different versions at Target? Mine has a different cover than in the ad and it doesn't say anything about the exclusive feature.

Almost made the same mistake when I was in my Target this afternoon. Pick up the regular edition and notice there was another version with a different cover. Check on the sticker which said has the Target bonus disc and look at the back cover which has the word Target Exclusive written on. Got that version instead.
