Re: Blu-rays you're surprised are NOT in your collection?

Some of my favorite action movies ever are the Die Hard movies. I own the silver "5 star" collection trilogy on DVD but never got around to buying the series on Blu-ray. If part 4 ever gets an unrated cut I'll pick up the series again.

Speaking of childhood favorites, I also still don't own either The Back to the Future Trilogy or the first 3 Indiana Jones movies on Blu-ray yet. As far as BTTF, it hasn't been that long since I bought the DVD set and still haven't watched them so I can't see buying the Blu-ray set any time soon. With Indiana Jones, I bought part 4 when it hit Blu-ray and don't want to rebuy it in the whole set.

Still don't own the Star Wars moviess either. I don't think I need to explain why...

The second & third seasons of Star Trek TOS... if there had been a play all maybe they would have been in it by now.

A play all button is what's preventing you from buying?

High and Low
Indiana Jones
A couple Disney flicks (Lion King, etc). I try to get most of those, but am slacking.

I also got every Criterion Blu-ray that was released for a number of months, until I realized, it was going to get expensive as shit as they ramped up from 2-3 to about 7 per month (and yes, I'm taking the BN sale into account). But there are at least 10 or so I want to get that I haven't gotten around to.

Well I was really disappointed. I will eventually add them, but if play all was an option they would've been day one.

Die Hard - with the mediocre reviews I've never been motivated to upgrade from the 5 star
Star Wars - like the movies but not a fanboy, preferred the OOT on Laserdisc when I had it
Indiana Jones - am waiting until the price drops
Disney - always intended to upgrade right away but with the kids grown, never seem to put one in anymore. Love Aladdin, Little Mermaid and Lion King so may eventually get those

The former two Disney flicks you mentioned aren't out yet, so you're good there.

I still haven't picked up The Lion King. I keep putting it off and now I think it's going back in the stupid vault here shortly. I should really grab it before it's not available for a decent price.

Yep I just checked it. I really hate that they feel the need to do that. Granted I know it's been out for a while already and I could've picked it up by now but still it's just sort of annoying.

I would say Star Wars, Mad Men (I think more so since I missed the Black Friday sale a few years ago and I can stream them from Netflix,) and Brazil (I have bought too versions over the years and other films have come out that I wanted...It still is one of my favorite films. Maybe if a get a gift certificate sometime.

It'll still be out on Amazon after it goes in Vault so you should have a little bit of time beyond that at least.

The Back to the Future Trilogy. I've yet to find it a for a pricepoint I'm comfortable with. I didn't have a BD player when it was released back in 2010 so until it hits the $20 pricepoint at Target again or perhaps a better sale at Amazon, I'm holding off. I have enough copies of them as it is.

Army of Darkness is another, but since I have the Boomstick Edition DVD I've been content. I'm not sure what cut is on the BD or how the PQ is so until it's $5 I'm not in a rush.

It's okay. I made up for you not having it by having it twice. Bought it originally, then got it again with the Hannibal Lecter collection.

I'm really surprised that I don't have Goodfellas.

I'm not surprised I don't own it, but given it's one of my favorite movies I really hope the re-issue in the Gangster Collection is a new transfer. I've intentionally held off (even though the 20th anniversary DigiBook packaging was nice) since I've heard how the movie is essentially crammed on a single BD-25.

Fight Club and Se7en - the original DVDs have such better digi-tray slide-out packaging, it's sad to go to the cases with the unattractive artwork

Both movies though look and sound tremendous in their Blu-ray editions. It is not a marginal upgrade. I agree however that the DVD packaging for both movies were much bettor.

The TC is on the BD. The image is ok. Audio does better. 5 bucks is a good price for it.

Indiana Jones Trilogy.

Waiting for seperated release. Only want just Raiders and Last Crusade. Didn't like Temple of Doom and the Crystal Skull which was pretty bad.

I waited too long on "Sleeping Beauty", but Amazon has a few used ones for reasonable prices; I'm thinking it over.
