If you pre-order it on Wal-Mart, the combo pack also includes a Blu-ray copy of G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra.

I don't know if that's a WM-exclusive or if it'll be included on all copies of the film.

I thought this was a pretty fun film and enjoyed it considerably more than The Rise of Cobra. I'll get it when it's around $15 too.

I hope the U.S. ends up getting this version of the film.

So far it's only been confirmed for Germany, the UK and Canada.

I was going to order it for $19.99 at Amazon, but maybe I will hold off for a little bit.

Hope that Extended cut makes it way to the U.S.

No word on what the extensions actually are but the claim is that it amounts to a total extra 13 minutes of footage.

I'm just wondering if the Retaliation is the extended cut as well in the double pack. If it is, I'm in for box.

The studio also imposed reshoots to put more Channing Tatum in the movie and other changes. The lame action scene at the end where Roadblock drives around in the mini-tank feels like something that was tacked on at the last minute. I wouldn't be suprised if the movie originally ended with something different.

Just off the top of my head there are several shots of Cobra Commander that were in the trailer but not in the final cut, so I welcome an extended.

Would Paramount really create separate releases for the theatrical cut and the extended cut? Seems more likely that everything will be the extended cut, or have seamless branching.

I'll be very annoyed if the Walmart Steelbook doesn't get the extended cut.

That sticker on the Best Buy Canada picture above seems to imply the extended cut is a Best Buy Exclusive. Best Buy US will probably have the same arrangement, I'll bet.

I ended up e-mailing Amazon about this to see if they have any info regarding a US release of the extended cut.

I got a reply from Amazon and according to them the extended cut will be included with this set.

So I guess I don't have to cancel my pre-order.

I would do a little more research. The people who normally reply to those emails from Amazon are based in India and have no idea what the hell they are talking about most of the time.
