Might get the steelbook depending on if the cover is different than the standard release. I'll still buy it either way but not a fan of the artwork they used.

Not a fan either, it's pretty apparent they weren't sure how to market the movie. They just ended up throwing everything together.

Wow, no commentary track from Bigelow? Does she normally no commentaries or is it hit or miss?
Thought she would do one for this since it was one of the most critically acclaimed movies in the last few months.
Didn't get a chance to see this in theatres, might blind buy it based on the great reviews.

I tyhink abit hit or miss. I have the German Strange Days DVD and the commentary is only for the chase at the beginning. She talked about the tech used to film it.

I don't remember Point Break having very many extras at all besides some deleted scenes which weren't particularly interesting.

Looks like BB has another exclusive. They're actually charging 29.99 for the movie and a code for a multiplayer map pack for a video game that nobody bought! I'll bet Electronic Arts begged BB to shut down pre-orders for the steelbook hoping this new exclusive would increase sales of MOH: Warfighter.

I rented this a few days ago from my local video store since I never saw it in theatres. My local video store put it out early.
Solid, very well made movie, but the extras suck. Less than 1 hour worth of material for such a big film with historical significance.
This is screaming for a double dip. I have to believe that Sony shot a long feature length production documentary on this movie. Plus, it wouldn't surprise me if Bigelow recorded a commentary. The fact that this movie was released wide in January and got a BD release less than 3 months later tells me this was a rush job.

I'm surprised this wasn't slated for a release on the first or second week in September 2013, and in the meantime, a ton of teasers about some solid and massively-packed editions of what was coming with documentaries such as a few Frontline documentaries, news clips which would be taken from 2001 to 2011, etc.
It's unfortunate we only have greedy hands at the helm of movies these days.
And the Steelbook cover sucks. As usual.

I'm so confused. Best Buy has a steelbook and an exclusive slip? There are different $22.99 skus on the website. I haven't seen anything else anywhere though. Anyone know the details?
