SYNOPSIS
Adapted from the novel by Thomas Keneally, Steven Spielberg's masterful film tells the incredible true story of the courageous Oskar Schindler (Liam Neeson). Initially a member of the Nazi party, the Catholic Schindler risks his career and life, and ultimately goes bankrupt, to employ 1,100 Jews in his crockery factory during the Holocaust. Schindler's Jewish accountant (Ben Kingsley) serves as his conscience, as Schindler conducts business with an obstinate and cruel Nazi commander (Ralph Fiennes), who viciously kills Jewish prisoners from the balcony of his villa overlooking a prison camp. Filmed entirely in black-and-white on location in Poland, Schindler's List does not downplay the faults of its magnanimous and unlikely hero, but relates a story of the triumph of the human spirit in the face of horrific devastation and tragedy.

One of my pet peeves with "cause" films like this and "United 93", is we never get bonus features that give us "making of" and archival materials featuring deleted scenes and advertising galleries. It becomes a digital memorial. Why can't we have both?

Is there a 3D release of this one?

I heard a colorized 3D release is slated for 2015.

A movie I bought a DVD when it was first released that I have still yet to watch. It's one of those movies that I feel I should own but I never really want to rewatch it.

Looks like a digiPAK to me, not a digibook.

I did the same thing actually. I actually ended up selling my DVD off a while back. It's a great movie but just not one I feel like watching very often. Not sure if I'll get the Blu-ray or not.

This is my favorite Spielberg film of all time, so I'll definitely be buying this.

Awesome! One of the few remaining DVDs that I still own. Can't wait to get the new Bluray that I want...and the DVD that I don't need.

This is one of those films thats well made, but I'm never in the mood to watch.

I'm shocked no one's used the movie to make out with a girl yet.

I just want the alternate ending where Oskar Schindler storms a concentration camp to rescue his half Jewish daughter that was vacationing in France.

Hopefully Munich isn't far behind

I'd rather be getting Munich. SL is a great film, but not one I'm likely to revisit often.

I bought the laserdisc and watched it once. Never bought the DVD, and while its a great movie, I won't be buying the Blu. Not the kind of movie, I just want to "throw on".

While I could see buying it, the inclusion of the digital copy is what seems weird to me. I know it's standard now, but it's not a movie I'd want to watch on the go.
