On the other hand, the extended cut of The Town has a newer video encode with slightly better picture quality than the theatrical cut.

I don't think that should be a problem with Argo, though.

Not quite. The alternate ending has

Ben Affleck gunned down as he's leaving by the guys he and Jeremy Renner beat up for harassing Rebecca Hall. In the book, Ben Affleck's character dies earlier in the gunfight with Pete Postlethwaite's character.


The Town's alternate ending plain sucks and even Ben Affleck said so. Still, I've yet to get Argo on BD and hope the extended cut includes the theatrical cut as well.
