Too bad they won't include the single-frame of Betty Boop boobies flash. It was removed before the initial home video release. But I can confirm it was there.

I read about the added frame and, since I was friends with the dept that ran the movies, I asked to check the movie frame-by-frame during her scene. Sure enough, as she reaches down to adjust her stocking, her top drops slightly to reveal nipples. There is a screen shot out there for the curious.

WTF? Never even knew about that. Did it matter to the scene? Historically speaking, that's a bullshit censor thing from Disney. But in the context of the film, how did that play out exactly?

It was just an easter egg added in by the animators and not intentional on the part of the directors, nothing more, nothing less, so I'm not so miffed about it being cut on home video.

I can't find it. Please show me.

I bet they won't restore the finger scene in the beginning either.

Or Michael Eisner's home number that was originally on the bathroom wall.

apparently in one shot Jessica Rabbit appears to be missing her underpants in one scene. and let's not forgot the quick shot of Baby Herman inserting a finger up toward's a woman's nether regions.

Betty Boop films were notorious for such easter eggs. The boobie flash was a homage to that. Since the film is a celebration of animated characters from yesteryear, it plays out as a perfect wink in context of the film without having anything to do with the main murdery mystery plot.

Re: Who Framed Roger Rabbit, March 12, 2013

So according to that thread the source of the Betty Boop gag was a 2005 UK broadcast of the movie? That is odd.

Also, for the Jessica Rabbit thing: http://www.snopes.com/disney/films/jessica.asp

I received the same e-mail from Amazon.

At least they're going to ship my copy of the new Bowie album separate instead of making me wait for them both.

"Manufacturing issue"? More likely Disney caught something naughty and recalled it, like what happened with the laserdisc of Roger Rabbit shorts. They basically LIED about a disc manufacturing issue with that, real reason was some hidden obscenities.

I believe review copies were sent out already. Wish I had one. Maybe there's something supposed to be on the disc that is missing or is incorrect, rather than something they want to take off.

Yeah, I got the delay message too, and that notice was on the product page when I ordered it last week. Hasn't shipped yet, but the delivery estimate is on Thursday. I can live with a two day delay. Does anyone know if B&M retailers have their copies handy? Roger Rabbit was showcased in a bunch of this week's circulars.

Mine shipped from amazon, but I ordered back in October or November (whenever it went up). Looks like BB has them in store. Is there any evidence that these discs have something the others won't?

Re: Who Framed Roger Rabbit, March 12, 2013

so the only thing that is wrong is the aspect ratio? and the ones that will be sent later from Amazon most likely will be corrected?

i guess there is no need to get this in-store today since they will be incorrect pressings. i would rather wait for a corrected version then deal with replacements and stuff.

I wrote a short piece for Premiere magazine on the Baby Herman bit. Got to talk to the man himself, Robert Zemeckis, about that scene.
