I'll be buying all 4. Hope they start coming out with their smaller masterpiece movies.
Melody Time Make Mine Music Fun and Fancy Free The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad Saludos Amigos The Three Caballeros Since these are bound not to draw as much interest, I'd like to see them package them together or in two volumes. |

Cover art for Little Mermaid BD3D.
Still scheduled for Fall release, after the theatrical release on Sept. 13, AFAIK. http://www.digitalbits.com/images/re...rmaid3dbrd.jpg |

Terrible cover art.

Re: Walt Disney Animated Classics 2013 Blu-ray releases
:whofart: That's one of my favorite posters. The title running vertical is annoying, but it's 1000% better than any of the DVD & VHS cover art.

Can't wait to upgrade my old ass copy of The Little Mermaid! |
Re: Walt Disney Animated Classics 2013 Blu-ray releases
That Disney DVD page has disappeared now, so once again, Atlantis is off the table.

Re: Walt Disney Animated Classics 2013 Blu-ray releases
Somewhere I had gotten that The Jungle Book was 2015. Totally agree with the terrible The Little Mermaid cover art, but I htink it may have something to do with how that movie changed the Disney name at the time. We got the four "best" most renounded Disneys movies there together The Little Mermaid, Beauty and The Beast, Aladdin, and The Lion King.

Re: Walt Disney Animated Classics 2013 Blu-ray releases
Personally my favorite has always been Oliver and Company since it was the first one I went to the show to see.

Re: Walt Disney Animated Classics 2013 Blu-ray releases
I'm surprised at the hate for The Little Mermaid cover art, I personally was pleasantly surprised by it as it uses actual poster art.

There's an insert with Peter Pan that lists Jungle Book as Spring 2014. Can't wait! :)

Re: Walt Disney Animated Classics 2013 Blu-ray releases
All I want is Atlantis, Lilo and sitch, and the emperor`s new groove. If Atlantis ever makes it to bluray, I hope its not in a 2 pack, I dont want to have to buy the crappy DTV sequel.

Re: Walt Disney Animated Classics 2013 Blu-ray releases
Damnit! I have to wait well over a year for Aladdin now?? At least anyway, I assume it's coming Fall 2014, but still! I'm very happy Little Mermaid is coming this fall, love that movie!

Re: Walt Disney Animated Classics 2013 Blu-ray releases
I'm guessing Atlantis might have a quiet summer release on it's own, like Treasure Planet last year.
Still a good 2-3 yrs before everything is released I think... we still have plenty of the lesser Disney films and they'll want to spread out the few remaining big ones they have left. Tarzan might make for a nice 3D conversion if they go that route, the way the shots are done - swinging thru the trees, etc. |
Re: Walt Disney Animated Classics 2013 Blu-ray releases
You know, Treasure Planet would have made for some nice 3D scenes, especially the computer animated ones.

Re: Walt Disney Animated Classics 2013 Blu-ray releases
Amazon put up pre-order pages for..
Atlantis: The Lost Empire Emperor's New Groove Both are two movie collections, no release dates listed. |
Re: Walt Disney Animated Classics 2013 Blu-ray releases
Same with Lilo & Stitch!
|
Re: Walt Disney Animated Classics 2013 Blu-ray releases
Sweet. In for all 3.

Re: Walt Disney Animated Classics 2013 Blu-ray releases
Nice, just watched Treasure Planet and Atlantis: The Lost Empire for the first time via Netflix Streaming last weekend. And despite my initial prejudice towards that period of Disney Animation, I enjoyed both. I still loathe Lilo & Stitch though, so I will be passing on that and just picking up Atlantis and Emperor's New Groove.
The 2000s was just a rough decade for Disney. The "good" of that decade is average at best (until we get to Bolt) and the "bad" is simply the worst stuff they've ever released (Lilo & Stich, Brother Bear, Chicken Little, Home on the Range, and Meet the Robinsons). |
Re: Walt Disney Animated Classics 2013 Blu-ray releases
I'm really hoping Atlantis and Lilo will port over all the extras from the special edition 2 disc DVD sets.
|
Re: Walt Disney Animated Classics 2013 Blu-ray releases
Finally! I disagree vehemently with BambooLounge and Lilo & Stitch is my favorite Disney movie.
