WB to distribute Paramount titles
From blu-ray.com:
Paramount Home Entertainment and Warner Home Entertainment Group announced today that they have signed a new distribution agreement. As a result, starting January 1, 2013 Warner will have access to more than 600 Paramount catalog titles which can be distributed in the U.S. and Canada.
Under the new agreement, Warner will also be able to manufacture on-demand titles and include UltraViolet digital copy bundled with packaged media.
The three-year deal covers U.S. and Canadian rights and includes a number of hit titles, such as Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Airplane!, and Terms of Endearment. However, Paramount retains rights for many of its most popular titles, including the Transformers, Star Trek and Indiana Jones franchises.

Hopefully, this turns out to be VERY good news for catalog fans.
F13th, please!

Re: WB to distribute Paramount titles
This could be good news if it means some of those many catalog titles that Paramount has been sitting on actually get released on BD. I've got a long wish list right here...

Re: WB to distribute Paramount titles
I wonder why Paramount is allowing another studio, specifically one of their competitors (and not an independent distributor like Criterion or Olive), having access to their catalog.
Something doesn't seem right here.

Yep, I have the German and French editions. Still wanting/hoping for a 2 disc SE with Ridley Scott commentary with some extras. Didn't know about any UK one though.

Re: WB to distribute Paramount titles
There was a wide variety of new releases to reach the top ten on the Blu-ray Sales Chart this week. Indiana Jones Blu-ray Box Set opened in first place with 239,000 units / $15.55 million, which is excellent for a box set.

And The following week...:
Indy had no legs. 240k isn't really that good for a boxset that has been heavily delayed several times and the last of the big catalog trilogy's left to release. It's already going for $45 used on Amazon when many said it would never drop that low.
The Numbers must be off as that would mean Cabin in the Woods sold over 240k copies. WTF?

This is still good news since Paramount neglects catalog titles.

I wouldn't like it if many of the catalogue titles just ends up in warner's made on demand program. I much rather have an Olive release than a Warner archive one.

I don't find this news exciting at all. I'm going to pretty much assume that most of those catalog titles that see the light of day will be MODs.
