Best Buy excl. Terminator Anthology

Unless I missed it, I'm surprised this hasn't come up at all. I'm curious as to if this is worth upgrading from DVD? Quality, extras, etc... if anyone purchased this and has any insight, I'd certainly appreciate it!

Re: Best Buy excl. Terminator Anthology

As far as I know, it's just a repackaging of the extant blu-rays discs for all four movies (the MGM Terminator, the T2 Skynet edition, Terminator 3, and both Terminator Salvation discs).

Allegedly, there's supposed to be a new blu-ray edition of the first Terminator film sometime soon that has improved PQ.

and at some goddamn point Cameron will get his ass on working on T2 again. That and True Lies...and The Abyss. Goddamn you, James Cameron. Stop w/ the Avatar stuff for a moment and finish what you fucking started when you said you were working on those films for BD.

Heres my post about it from the BB weekly thread:

I picked up the Terminator set, and its very nice. The face is embossed and metallic, and overall the set is heavy and well put together. Here are some quick pics:

Re: Best Buy excl. Terminator Anthology

So for the people who bought it, is it just a repackaging of the existing discs?

I'll pass as well. I'm waiting for the remastered Terminator 1 release before I grab it.

I saw this at Best Buy the other day and upon examining it, it's 100% re-packaging of the previous releases and since I already have T1-4 on BD, it's a definite pass from me.

Saw it at Best Buy yesterday, surprised they got all of them in one box.

Re: Best Buy excl. Terminator Anthology

This is weird.i just bought a new sealed Terminator anthology. While all the discs are there. Terminator 3 has a clear cover disc with the title written in black while the rest has black cover the way it looks in promo pics. Anyone else get something like this? Tough to complain since I do have all the movies. Just wished they all matched.

Why do the discs need to match.

WB has started pressing all of their old catalog titles to what you're describing. I recently bought The Departed and it was that way, compared to a friend's copy which has actual disc art. Must be cost effective.

You just got a new pressing is all.

So still no mono? Sounds like it's just exclusive packaging.

He was referring to Terminator 3.

This Anthology set has been out for years. I think it still even includes the prior BD release before the "remastered" teal version.

It's a Best Buy exclusive bundle compiling the 4 films (by 3 different studios) which I guess makes it appealing to someone who wants all 4 movies in the same box. WB acts as distributor.
