I'd be down... if the original theatrical cut was available on Blu-ray.

I will get this for sure. My copy of the original was stolen in a robbery. This and the Blade Runner re-releases are great for me.

Pass. Already own every cut on Blu-Ray (the Theatrical cut from Paramount Hong Kong) and several copies of the graphic novel.

Based on the fact that Warner Bros. recently re-activated all the expired digital copy codes that were included in the original release I'm guessing that this is literally the old stock re-released within a larger package.

Warner is re activating digital copy codes for all their releases, not just Watchmen.

Looks like a nice set but I already own the original Blu-ray director's cut release and have a copy of the graphic novel. I wouldn't mind seeing the ultimate cut but don't care enough to buy this set.

don't get the UC. It's actually really boring. Also..added scenes w/ bad acting in them.

Not bad. No need since I bought the first big box and added the theatrical DVD. Looks like they had the same idea.

Re: Watchmen: Collector's Edition - 11/13/12

I've already got the Director's Cut and a copy of the graphic novel. If this release results in copies of the Ultimate Cut on Blu-Ray going down in price, I'll probably just try to find one of those, rather than pick this set up.

Then again, if this set ends up going cheap like some of the other Warner UCEs, I might just grab it then...

It appears to be the exact same discs from the OOP Ultimate Cut, with the exception of the digital copy disc replaced by a DVD

So, no different than the rest of the scenes in the movie, then?

Might pick this up. Im a sucker for sets like these, and dont have the UC. Heck never even paid attention to whats in the UC. Is it they just added the TOTBF, and deleted scenes more than the DC?

Re: Watchmen: Collector's Edition - 11/13/12

They add in Black Freighter and the lead-ins with the Newspaper Vendor and the Kid reading the comic. The additions really don't add much to the overall story and starts to get in the way towards the end.

As for the extras, they're pretty much the extras from the Director's Cut version. Only thing that looks missing is the Under The Hood video which was an extra on both the Black Freighter and Ultimate Cut releases.

I will not be buying this... but it has reminded me to pick up the theatrical cut on Blu-ray while I'm still in Australia.

I think Blu-ray.com got the extras wrong, since it doesn't appear to have the director's cut, I really doubt they have the maximum movie mode because they would have had to edit that into the UE. And since they are most likely the same discs as before, it most likely does have Under The Hood and would then just be missing the Maximum Movie Mode.

I'll get this...once some retailer clears them out sub $30. These lavish boxsets always seem to drop.
