Does any other store have exclusive content besides best buy?

I think what hasn't been clear is what you mean by "content". If you mean on-disc exclusive content, I think Best Buy is the only one. The Target digibook is, well, a book so it has exclusive printed content. The Cowl set obviously has exclusive physical content.

I noticed how this did this today which makes me wonder if those that pre-ordered already had their copy shipped and thus paid the higher price.

I agree but at least the last couple of "whattaya mean" where making fun of me.

I laughed.

Amazon has always adjusted my orders if the price changed before release day

Guess you've never heard of Amazon's pre-order price guarantee.

Ah ok. Yeah - I knew of the pre-order price guarantee but wasn't sure if it was applicable until the product had shipped or until it's release date. Guess it's the latter, which is good.

Anyone pre-order TDKR at BB and watch those 35 mins of the exclusive doc yet? Is it anything of worth?

Re: The Dark Knight Rises - Blu-ray + DVD + UV Digital Copy (Dec 07, 2012)

I received this message from Target today about my Target.com pre-order of The Dark Knight Rises digibook.

hello ****,
We’re writing to let you know that due to complications with our supplier, your pre-order for The Dark Knight Rises - Only at Target (Blu-ray/DVD) (2012) [Order #*********] was cancelled.
We appreciate your excitement for this Target-only item. To make this up to you, we are sending you a free copy to the address on your original order. We expect this to arrive between December 10th and December 17th. While this is later than you expected from your original order, we hope that you enjoy your free copy of The Dark Knight Rises.
Also note that this item will be available in Target stores on December 4th. Again, we apologize and appreciate your patience in this matter.
Thanks for shopping at Target.
Team Target

So they cancelled it and will send it anyway two weeks later but maybe not the digibook?

The wording is a little odd in the message. I'm hoping they will send the digibook and I plan to stop in store and pick one up just in case they don't. If they send the regular blu-ray set I'm ok with that because it will be free and I can gift it for Christmas.

Is the Best Buy exclusive documentary on a disc that will play in a Blu-Ray player or is it one of those things where you have to go online and watch it? I remember people posting about how Act Of Valor's Best Buy exclusive was a video that you had to go online to watch. If that's the case with The Dark Knight Rises then I'll just wait for the regular version to drop in price before buying it.

Heads up: I just saw this for sale in my local B.J.'s. It was misplaced in one of those special P.O.P. cardboard display cases with other Blu-rays going for $7.99.
It had a 3-D Slipcover on it (I don't know what version that would make it), and I believe the price was $27.99. I didn't pick it up because I am going to wait until this is at a lower price point.

They may have accidentally put it on the floor, but that doesn't necessarily mean they'd sell it to you early. My local Costco put the Indiana Jones set out early the weekend before release. When I took it to the register, it wouldn't ring up. They eventually took it away and apologized for the mistake.

it looks like the BB doc is just a download or something. don't think there is an extra disc or added content to existing. sucks if true.

Here in Canada the editions are also spread out among retailers, and from the look of it the "Reborn" Best Buy doc IS on a disc.

However, it does not come with the steelbook because the steelbook is a Future Shop exclusive.

Amazon Canada gets a Bane figure, Walmart Canada gets a Batman figure, HMV gets the Bat Cowl, and Costco Canada gets the Target Digibook.

Will the trilogy set have all the extras from previous editions plus the ones for TDKR?

Thanks for the heads up in regards to retailers exclusive here in Canada!

I don't know that's true. Best Buy made is available for download only early, as a perk for pre-ordering, but that doesn't mean it won't wind up on a disc.
