Back when many titles were still unreleased on DVD, this forum would be the #1 place to visit to find out release dates. The other day I decided to do a search on Amazon for the 30 or so titles I've been waiting for to get a BR release and more than half have already been released and a good 10 of them have an upcoming release date listed. How did all these titles manage to fly under the radar on here? Were people more excited to see a DVD release for the films they've been waiting for than a BR release?

I think the general enthusiasm for home video has waned after so many years of DVD being on the market and Blu-ray nowhere in sight of overtaking it as the dominant medium. It's also known this forum has never been a hotbed of Blu-ray discussion. Much of the hardcore Blu-ray fanbase gather on other forums.

I was in Best Buy the other day, and saw TAPS on Blu-ray....I said, "Whoa, I didn't know that was coming out."

Then I was browsing the poll "What are you buying the week?" and saw Sea of Love, and Hoosiers (SE)....surprises all.

Always check the announcement thread. Especially if there's a group of titles from a certain studio coming out on the same day. The lesser known stuff gets mentioned in there.
