I came to DVD Talk to try and find some info on the blu ray release of Barbarella. Apart from the 'blu ray release announcements' I didn't see anything, so I just wanted to say - I'm excited!

Yea, it's been up on Columbia House as a pre-order for a while. Got my order in for $5.98 during the Memorial Day 70% off sale. I imagine Amazon and others have had it as well, but CH is where I noticed it.

Finally received mine after a lengthy delay from amazon.ca. It is indeed a nice slip cover! So glad I didn't settle for the bilingual cover just because it was available on release day!

For those who can find it, Best Buy has it in stock for $14.99. So with the $5 upgrade program going on right now, it can be had for $9.99.

Best slip I've owned in quite a while.

That sllp is better then the movie.

I usually don't care about Slipcovers, but that looks great!

Going to try and pick this up sometime this week.

1 - A young Jane Fonda spinning in the air while fully nekkid in a PG film!
2 - Corman-esque lava lamp effects!
3 - Wall to wall ..to ceiling .....to toilet shag rug probably taken from the hide of Chewbacca, himself!
4 - Spiritual enlightenment in all its psychedelic ways!
5 - And about 5,000 behind-the-scene air compressors for the rest of the effects!

I get why people like this movie but the spinning nekkid is for only a few moments in the very first scene of the movie.its all down hill from there.

It's pure camp, and captures the zeitgeist of the 60's. Enjoy it for what it is.

Was there ever another non-PG cut of this movie?

The original release was edited to get a PG rating and rereleased to theaters to capitalize on the success of Star Wars. Even though the original cut is the one released on blu-ray and dvd, it still retains the PG rating. I doubt the cut version will ever get a release.

$9.99 this week at Best Buy and Amazon.

Picked up a copy today.
