The Good The Bad & The Ugly Blu-Ray Digibook
Is the Blu-Ray edition digibook version of TGTB&TU a different transfer to the DNR overload version of the regular edition? Or is it the same disc just repacked in a digibook?

Most likely the same disc now in a digibook.

Looks to be an Australian release from last December.

Yeah, I wouldn't expect it to be a brand-new transfer. The other Fox/MGM titles that were rereleased as digibooks were the same discs that were available before (Terminator, Usual Suspects, Patton, etc.). That's been a Fox practice ever since DVD.
But then again, you never know. Look at The French Connection...

IMO, this movie desperately needs a new edition for several reasons (transfer quality, availability of multiple cuts, subtitle and dub playback options, corrected soundtrack with original FX stems, etc.).

It's a popular enough title to justify another BD release. They might as well do an Ultimate Edition with all the different cuts, audio options, soundtracks, etc. It would make money, I think.
