anyone has problems with kill bill volume 1 and volume 2 bluray ?

Hi everyone i went to best buy today and bought Kill bill volume 1 and volume 2 on bluray. I get home and pop it in, and the screen stays blank the movie doesn't play. Has anyone had this problem ? i know its not the player cause i watched 12 monkeys and evil dead 2 last night and they played fine Without any issues. I would really appreciate it if someone can tell me what the problem could be, before i go and return them.

12 Monkeys is a Universal title and Evil Dead 2 is either Anchor Bay or Lionsgate (depending on the edition) so you can't really use them to gauge whether or not your player can play a Disney disc (and even if you bought the later Lionsgate versions they're still the old Disney discs).

See if you can upgrade the firmware on your player.

Bump.

I just went to play Vol. 1 and it is having trouble loading. I have bought the 2 pack twice now and Vol. 1 will not load up all the way in my player. I see the Miramax logo, a warning about load time, red blade slashes to indicate loading...and then nothing. Vol. 2 loads fine.

Firmware seems up to date.

Disc rot? I know that older Lionsgate blu-rays have had issues with rot (American Psycho is one I remember being mentioned.)

Can you try it on another model of player?

Only have one player. I bought another copy and had the same issue.

In that case it might be your player. Seems like BR players tend to shit the bed faster and more frequently than DVD players did.

My first player, a Sony I bought in 2009, crapped out after about three years. It slowly stopped recognizing blu-ray discs until it wouldn't play any at all. I've read similar reports from others.

Mine is a Sony... but I've never had this problem before. I played plenty of stuff before and after trying this one. Just very odd.

Universal Blu-rays almost always had a problem loading on my Sony but that has not happened a lot recently.

The Panasonic I have does not recognize Blu-rays though some discs work if you load and eject and repeat the process until the blu-ray starts playing.

It has no problems reading dvds.
