Deliverance: 40th Anniversary Edition - 6/26/12
This will be a digibook release and with a new extra, it's possible we'll actually get a remastered disc with lossless audio. Per blu-ray.com:
While the technical specifications are still unknown for this 40th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray, the disc contains a number of bonus supplements, such as:
Commentary by John Boorman
All-new Deliverance: The Cast Remembers retrospective
Four-part behind-the-scenes documentary:
- Deliverance: Betraying The River
- Deliverance: The Journey
- Deliverance: The Beginning
- Deliverance: Delivered
The Dangerous World of Deliverance vintage featurette
Theatrical trailer
The disc also comes packaged in a collectible 42-page digibook with "behind-the-scenes photos and rare insights."

It's possible that it'll be a new disc with a new transfer, complete with lossless audio.
It's also just as possible that it could be the same disc, with the new extra on a bonus DVD, like with Goodfellas.
Hell, it's also possible that even if it's a new disc, it could use the same encode and audio tracks.
I'll gladly upgrade if it's the first one. I'll hold off if it's either of the latter ones.

Despite how cheap this one has been, I still haven't upgraded my DVD, so put me in the camp interested in hearing if this is going to be a new transfer.

wow and this is good movie and might to get this one and replace my DVD with an snapcase with flipper disc.
