The Artist - 4/24/12

Per blu-ray.com:

Sony's Blu-ray presents the film in its 1.37:1 original aspect ratio with a still-unspecified audio track. The disc also contains the following bonus supplements:

Two behind-the-scenes featurettes:
- The Artist: The Making Of A Hollywood Love Story
- Hollywood As A Character: The Locations of The Artist

Q&A with the filmmakers and cast
Blooper reel

I mentioned this in the movie thread, but I wonder if they'd have a "theatrical" version and a "clean" version a la Planet Terror

I'm hoping for a lossless 7.1 mix myself.

I still haven't seen this either.

Is there stuff that has been edited out? I saw the movie and I can't think of anything I would "clean" out.

He actually meant "clean" as in "picture quality" (no scratches, missing frames, etc.)

Don't laugh, but mono would certainly add to the mystique they were going for.

As for the "clean" comment mentioned earlier, I would not expect any additional tinkering. What you saw in the theaters will be on the Blu...more than likely.

And on a semi-related note, if you dug the music, the soundtrack is a must buy. It has been in my car for 3 weeks now and I cannot get enough of it. Truly a masterpiece.

Yeah, when I saw it in theaters there seemed to be a sheen to the picture to make it look old.

A fantastic film! Pre-ordered. As far as I can recall the music/sound in the movie was restricted to central channel only.

I got the UK disc as it is released before the US one and comes with the same extras.

Although it says region B, a little trick. If you play this on a Region A or C player, when you get the region code warning, just press the menu button and you'll go straight to the main menu.

Wait...does that work for all? or just this Region B BD?

For this particular blu-ray it works. I tried other EIV releases from the UK and they don't work, so it's just a fluke. Tried it on 3 different players.
