My Thor 3D came in from Amazon UK on Thurs. Watched it that night. It is amazing 3D. There are times the depth appears to go on forever.
It's region free, labeled ABC, played in PS4.
STRONG Buy!

I’ve heard Amazon UK sold out their stock of this before the orders were even filled- so much for “nobody wants 3D.” I heard Japan got a set with 3D and 4K together, which would have made everyone happy.

"Store pickup is not available within 250 miles." That's what it states for the 5 that I want, and I live in So Cal.

Re: The Official "3D" Blu ray Thread. Now with Smell-O-Vision.

Just spoke to a rep, "probably most of the 3Ders sold out in So Cal within minutes of the deals...sorry!"

So I went to the Amazon page, filled out the lower portion that states...would you like to TELL US ABOUT A LOWER PRICE? I gave the 4 3Ders I want to go from $19.99 from Amazon to Best Buys price of $9.99. We'll see what happens.

More than likely they will be on endcaps as well. Might be worth stopping by this week. That's how the last big 3D sale was. And since they only had like two of each movie, it wasn't showing available for store pickup.

The only one I wanted was Edge of Tomorrow, so I price matched Target.

I dunno about the 1:20 mark, but when Hela kicks the Asgardians asses at 33:00 ish is spectacular. More impressions later...

Thanks for the Best Buy deal. I just got a $5 off coupon by email, so I got Spiderman: Homecoming for $14.92 shipped.

Got Thor: Ragnarok in the mail from Amazon UK last week. It might be my favorite Marvel movie, and the 3D is just spectacular.

As is fairly typical with BB, the Hobbit titles came back into stock this morning so I picked up all 3 for about $8 each with a coupon I had.

Amazon has price matched The Desolation of Smaug, but not the other two yet. Also, these are not the extended editions, just so people know.

They still haven't done IN THE HEART OF THE SEA or EDGE OF TOMORROW, the only two I want.

I think it's sort of funny that there are extended editions of movies that were already artificially extended in the first place using the appendices. I've heard these movies are overly long as it was, so I'm cool with just the regular editions. The extended versions of the main trilogy were was too long as well.

Re: The Official "3D" Blu ray Thread. Now with Smell-O-Vision.

I was at Best Buy today and they have a standee that says "3D favorites for $9.99." They had exactly two copies of each title (which would explain why it's not showing available for store pick up.)

On the stand they had copies of:

All three Hobbit movies
Pacific Rim
House of Wax
Gravity
Man of Steel
In the Heart of the Sea
Jupiter Ascending
Godzilla
San Andreas
Mad Max
The Wizard of Oz
Edge of Tomorrow
Point Break

Hope this helps some folks

^I have almost all of those and most are worth having in 3D.

I'm glad to see some 3D disc presence back in Best Buy stores. I hope they add Book of Life to that display.

Re: The Official "3D" Blu ray Thread. Now with Smell-O-Vision.

Amazon finally price matched the third Hobbit movie (the only one I didn't have).

I'd like to get In the Heart of the Sea, but the Best Buy near me has basically stopped carrying 3D movies. They didn't get the 3D shippers during the last couple of sales, so I know it'll be a waste of time to go there and look.

Went to my BB to pick up my JUSTICE LEEAGUE and asked if they had any more 3Ds, nope was their response.

I then see your post Matty, so I decide to go to another city's BB and lo and behold...they have a standee with all the 3Ders. So, I pick up EDGE OF TOMORROW, IN THE HEART OF THE NIGHT AND JUPITER ASCENDING!!!

THANKS AGAIN MATTY FOR THE HEADS UP!!!!

To anyone who doesn't have it - Pacific Rim is a reference 3D disc. The movie really isn't that bad either, I actually enjoy it a great deal. Its robots fighting monsters. How can you not like that?

I completely agree. This is probably our most watched 3D disc since it looks amazing and it's such a fun movie.

Re: The Official "3D" Blu ray Thread. Now with Smell-O-Vision.

Some friends and I got together last night since I finally received the new Thor movie. I was very impressed with the 3D presentation. I was the only one who hadn't seen it, but the others - who hadn't seen it in 3D - thought the extra dimension really added a lot.

While it's disheartening that this wasn't made available in the United States, I love seeing how Marvel has continued to improve the quality of its 3D. The difference between the 3D in the new Thor and what we got with the first one is really remarkable.
