Wouldn't an active set also look darker? I mean, there's a shutter blocking all light from the TV that's active for half the time over each eye.

I know glasses are tinted and it’s active 3D, but some reviews mention colors popping and equal to 2D counterpart and some are bright, but most darker than 2D. No way to compensate easily?

Turn off the lights in your room.

Both 3D TVs I've had keep different picture settings for 3D and 2D- adjust your picture while watching a 3D picture, and when you play a 2D source it will go back to the settings you had for that. This is one thing that will need to be considered if we have to depend on external 3D equipment in the future if it won't be built into TVs anymore- I always had to re-adjust the picture when using the shutter-glass system on my CRTs, though nowadays TVs at least have different presets you could manually switch to.

Well, I’m happy to say Shazam! Looks great in 3D. Lots of depth throughout. Some subtle popout effects. Very nicely done. DC, I think, as a whole and I know they don’t have as much an arsenal as Marvel has, but I find their movies to mostly suck (Justice League, BvS, SS), but the conversions they do, imo, are very nicely done. Jury still out on Shazam! as a movie...

I got to reiterate, the 3D in Shazam! is outstanding. Anyone else give it a whirl?

No, no-one. Stop being so needy. If someone else wants to post about their experiences, they will.

I have Shazam in 3D, just haven’t gotten around to watching it yet. And to very frank, a great 4K with good Atmos will always best even a spectacular 3D presentation. I still have love for 3D, but 4K is consistently providing a superior presentation has me checking those out first.

Wow does Alita: Battle Angel look damn good in 3D. Great depth. Alita hardly looks CGI. Looks real. Although, at first I did think Christoph Waltz was James Woods. Just in light of first scene when finding Alita...

Hopefully Woods doesn't sue you for such libel...

I just picked up National Treasure for 900 points. Little damage to my 21000 points I have to blow. I can't help but think they're going to do some overhaul at some point and bring a lot more of the Marvel 4K sets. I'll wait until then and drain my points that way.

What the hell are points anyway and what are they used for?

I've got enough saved for the Disney studio tour, just need to figure out when to go and if anyone wants to come with me. Only things I've spent points on have been the Movie Club Exclusive discs.

Seems like Hobbs and Shaw IS getting a 3D Blu-Ray release in other countries, even though it hasn't even been shown in 3D in US theaters- but someone I know who saw it says the end credits still include info on the 3D conversion. I hate the Fast and Furious movies but will be getting this.

Credits like that are contractual, and likely have to be on all copies of the film.
