Re: The Deadly Spawn - 2/7/12
I'm hearing some complaints regarding the video quality. Opinions?

Re: The Deadly Spawn - 2/7/12

Re: The Deadly Spawn - 2/7/12
blu-ray.com forum says the image is fucked :(
|
Re: The Deadly Spawn - 2/7/12
no, the blu-ray.com person was having problems with his monitor and bluray player - the image is not 'fucked'

Re: The Deadly Spawn - 2/7/12
Interested to hear opinions on this one. It's a pretty cheap upgrade from the Synapse disc.

interestingly the whole conversation in regards to that topic was deleted.

yeah it was a very fascinating 'mud slinging' conversation - too bad it wasn't retained.

Noir if you're going to quote a blu-ray.com quote you might want to post all of it:

But judging by that image of the clock, the DVD not only has more grain and detail, but it even appears to be compressed better. (Wtf-Film: "It is.") What.the.f***. Sorry, Ted, but I'm saving my money and sticking to the Synapse DVD. :p Looking forward to the comics and movie sequel, though. Edit: And here are some caps https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...0057198&type=3 (Click "Download" to view them full-sized.) Concerned about 'em being on Facebook which compresses the hell out of images? Wtf-Film says, "Even Facebook's compression can't make these look worse." Oy! This is so f***ing ugly: http://www.imgplace.com/img818/7441/...pawnugh.th.jpg I hope this isn't representative of what's to come from Elite Blu-rays in the future. Good gravy, Ted! Pull the license from Elite somehow and give that sh*t back to Don May! ;p |
Re: The Deadly Spawn - 2/7/12
Can't even begin to say how pissed I am. Really, another great B-film completely ruined by complete ineptness, sheer stupidity during the authoring process.
An insult to the fans, Ted really screwed up licensing this to Elite. Glad I DID NOT order this. What a screw-job. Want to throw us another bone, Elite? No, empatically, no. I'm done forever with that company after this fiasco. |
Re: The Deadly Spawn - 2/7/12
Now, I'm sure a proper release is out of the question, of course.
|
Re: The Deadly Spawn - 2/7/12
so Elite holds the rights to ReAnimator then - correct? oh brother -ohbfrank-
|
Re: The Deadly Spawn - 2/7/12
Last I remember, Giles, Anchor Bay had the rights to reanimator.

and fuck, I wish I would've held off on buying this disc now. can't believe the DVD looks so much better. |
Re: The Deadly Spawn - 2/7/12
Elite definitely had the rights initially
http://dvdmedia.ign.com/dvd/image/ar...038573-000.jpg but AB got the rights in 2007 and released their own version on DVD |
Re: The Deadly Spawn - 2/7/12
Elite had the rights, then Anchor Bay got them and released a dvd of Re-Animator... I think AB still has them but I don't know anymore. I just hope they license it out to someone that knows what they're doing.

Re: The Deadly Spawn - 2/7/12
WTF-Film review is up
i'll be sending my blu-ray back to amazon and ordering the dvd for $1.50 more. never thought i'd say that. :( |
Re: The Deadly Spawn - 2/7/12
Same here. Normally I'd say it isn't worth the hassle but I just ordered the DVD to replace the BR that's arriving today.
