Somewhere (Sofia Coppola) on Blu-ray
I know a lot of people hated this film, but I liked it. I want to get it on blu but don't understand why it is so expensive. I don't think I've ever seen it cheaper than $25. It's always on ebay in the $30 range & no one ever buys.
Why are some blu-rays like this so ridiculously expensive? Has anyone ever seen a good deal on this film?

It's Universal so eventually you'll see this on sale in the $15-20 range, just got to keep an eye on the ads or Amazon.com.

Man, this film was horrific. Sophia is going to be a one hit wonder (Lost in Translation).
Anyway, give it a few months. It'll drop soon enough. It probably didn't sell much, so stores will eventually offer it at a low price.

Both horrible (though it's been years since I've seen TVS). Not even Jason Schwartzman could save Marie Antoinette. LiT is still the only film I like. I keep on giving her a chance...hoping for something.

In any case, this thread is in the wrong forum, as the OP is looking for the cheapest price. Actually, it doesn't belong in the Blu-ray Bargains either, since it isn't a bargain.

I didn't hate it but I didn't really like it either. To quote 30 Rock, "You wouldn't think a movie called Somewhere would go nowhere."
Her biggest miscalculation is the fact I didn't feel sorry for him for one second. I would love to have his problems. She can't really connect with regular people. All her films are about affluent people because this is what she knows.

I sort of liked it.

I sort of liked it too. The more I thought about it later. I thought the scenes with him and the kid playing video games were legitimately sweet.

Funny, The Virgin Suicides is .99 HDX rental today only on Vudu. Think I'll give it another shot.

I'm not sure that we're supposed to feel sorry for him, and I don't either. I found a lot aggravating about the movie, the interminable opening, all the wall-staring, but ultimately, the movie is aging like a fine wine in my head and I'm appreciating it more as time goes by.
