The Frighteners -- 9/13/11

Unfortunately this is listed as being one disc, so I'm assuming the massive documentary won't be included.

The documentary was on the HDDVD so it should fit on the Blu-ray. It's SD only so that probably helps.

Finally, I've been wanting to get this on Blu-ray to replace my HD DVD copy. Looking forward to picking this up.

I will be happy to replace my sd-dvd copy of the film that quits playing in the middle of the movie due to it being pressed on a dvd-18.

I didn't realize this wasn't on BD. I'll stick with my HD DVD unless there's some major reason to upgrade.

I've been really waiting for this so I could get rid of my HD-DVD

There were Spanish and German DVD sets that had both cuts of the film.

I'd be surprised if this release wasn't just a clone of the HD-DVD release.

Wow, that cover is just ridiculous. Would it have killed Universal to put "INCLUDES 2 VERSIONS!" on a sticker instead of plastering it in massive letters on the cover itself? Hopefully it's only a placeholder.

That's fugly. Hopefully it's just tempt artwork or I'm gonna be printing out a custom cover.

Yeah hopefully that art isn't final. I actually like the white cover that's on the HD DVD I've got.

It'll likely be close to that, with the text smaller/different. Seems Universal and Paramount are really going out of there way to make the worst covers possible for their catalog titles.... but it'll match the blue case!

Can't say I'm a fan of the artwork.

*shrug*

I'll still probably check it out...

Graphic "Designer" should be taken out back and shot.

You'd really not buy a BD version of a movie because of the cover art? That's kind of stupid, the movie is what counts right? I've bought Back to the Future on DVD and BD and hated the artwork both times, but that didn't stop me from buying it. I agree that cover is awful and possibly beyond awful, but it's not going to stop me from buying it.

Blu-Ray.com has the non-ad artwork.

Still better than the 3rd DVD version...

Still have my DVD version with the doc (and the HD-DVD)... won't mind if it's left off.

Re: The Frighteners -- 9/13/11

I prefer the images of the ghosts from that DVD version over the ones used on the Blu-Ray cover. I also wish they hadn't fucked with Busey's face so much, it looks dumb. With those two changes, I'd think the Blu-Ray cover was fine.

Busey does look like a floating mask.
