All the reviews I read of the theatrical cut pretty much said that an extended cut would be necessary to make sense of this movie, and 18 minutes ain't exactly chump change.

Re: Sucker Punch R rated Director's Cut - 06/28/11

yeah I remember us talking about the cuts that were made...seemed interesting for sure. Theoretically...from the trailer...this thing had everything I could've wanted in just crazy entertainment...yet the film didn't bring it that well. I would for sure be interested to see this thing w/ those 18 mins..cuz...it's a lot to take out nowadays in a film.

Re: Sucker Punch R rated Director's Cut - 06/28/11

Its a shame it seems Snyder didnt get to finish his original ending for this, as he said it was the only thing missing from the Directors Cut. If it was in, this would probably be like 20+ minutes longer, rather than 18. Would be fitting too since he is putting back in the musical montage in the first 1/3rd of the movie

A musical send out featuring all the female cast, ending with the curtain close on the stage. It was supposedly more uplifting as well IIRC.

Well he filmed it, its just unfinished (probably effect overlays, color correction, mixing, etc, etc, stuff like that), he said hed get the money to finish it if the movie did well (lol)

It was originally in the movie, but due to test audiences he ended up taking it out because they found it way too wierd and extravagant or something (yeah, I could see how that would not fit with the rest of the movie...not).

I didn't like this when I saw it in theaters, but I will definitely give the film another shot because of the Director's Cut.

I can't say I thought the film was very good. Perhaps the DC will be an improvement; so I'll probably rent it (plus, the girlfriend thought it was entertaining, if not actually good, maybe she'd enjoy the DC more).

Missed this at the cinema. I will get this as you know WB and Snyder love their extras.

Unless they pull a Sin City...wasn't the extended cut of that mostly credits?

Re: Sucker Punch R rated Director's Cut - 06/28/11

Certainly interested in a R rated cut of the movie. Bad reviews kept me home on this one but I'm willing to try just about anything once it gets to disc. I kinda like the cover *shrug*, but then the chick is awfully hot . Honestly though the movie should benefit greatly from a R rated cut. One needs to look no further than movies such as Daredevil and Elektra (yes, I said Elektra) if they want proof that PG-13 can make a mess of a good film. I wish they would do an unrated cut of Jonah Hex too...but I know I'm dreaming on that one.

That was only because each story was separated and had it's own credit sequence.

I'm interested in this, especially to see the musical numbers that were cut. The effects should be fun to re-watch on Blu.

First day purchase for me. Didn't love it, but I could watch some of the action set pieces over and over again. (That and Jamie Chung in ass-less chaps.)

Fingers crossed for more extras. That list looks awfully sparse.

jesus..DD was flawed from the beginning, its better as a DC cut but it's not a film I'd enjoy much even if that was what was released. MSJ isn't a good director.

Agreed to a point. I will admit my bias to Daredevil though, heck if anybody remembers the little 2-part episode with the Incredible Hulk in the Lou Ferringo/Bill Bixby days, I even enjoyed that. But I do think the extra 20 minutes added a lot to the Daredevil movie. Sure, it could have been better, but Daredevil as much as I love him will always get 2nd hand treatment. Hopefully like the 20 minutes in Daredevil, Suckerpunch's extra time will benefit the movie and make it a fun popcorn flick to watch over and over.

I loved this movie too. Picking it up on day 1. I just hope the DVD in the combo pack has the features too. I may pick up both combo pack and regular DVD. I also hope more features are announced on it too.

First day purchase. This had one of the best fight scenes I've ever seen put to film (towards the end, against the robots).

This was juvenile and brainless and I loved every minute. I'll get this day 1 for sure.
