Fluke of all flukes, just out of curiosity, I decided to count my blu-rays and they equalled out to exactly 100! I bought my 100th today. Human Planet.

Re: What was/will be your 100th blu-ray?

Just picked up my 100th Blu in Reservoir Dogs.

Fitting considering the VHS of RD was what really sparked my interest in cinema 20 years ago.

It seems mine was Young Frankenstein, around last September.

Almost a year later, I'm at 372, though I've sold off around 40 or so.

i'm probably pretty close.. but I haven't been keeping track of how many I own. I do have them logged into profiler, but It's not exclusively blu.

You could plug them into Blu-ray.com for a relatively quick count.

You can filter by "format" and click "blu-ray".

Apparently it was Out of Sight purchased March 1, 2011 (box sets count as 1). Just another film. I'm up to 163 so maybe I'll hit 200 by the end of this year.

I will never even know how many discs I own within a few thousand, let alone know what number purchased something was.

You made me use google. I consider that work. PMing you an invoice.

But seriously, if I infer the reference correctly, I'm sure my collection is less than half the size of dozens of people here. I'm just very disorganized with mine.

Re: What was/will be your 100th blu-ray?

Can't remember now, posted it somewhere/sometime on this forum.

I am now one away from 200, not sure what that will be. Will have to wait and see, nothing coming down the pipe I am wanting to purchase.

Mission Impossible, Sherlock Holmes, maybe some other title that will go on sale that I cannot pass up?

Re: What was/will be your 100th blu-ray?

No clue for me - probably happened sometime late in 2007 or early 2008. My current tally at Blu-ray.com is 745 but that probably needs some paring down as I've purged a decent amount recently.

Back when I first joined, pdjennings already had thousands of DVDs. Each "What DVD are you buying this week" thread that came out, he would list almost every new DVD.

There was also some guy who acquired hundreds of boxes of DVDs (can't remember how he got them) but he claimed there were 45,000 DVDs. Or maybe it was 25,000.

Oh yeah, I vaguely recall that poster and the discussion now.

I might have well over 10,000 DVDs if you count all of the freebie/promo discs that I used to obsessively collect. But for "real" DVDs I probably have around 1000 BDs, about 500 seasons of TV shows, and maybe 5,000 films. These numbers could be off by as much as 100% though. Someday I'll be organized......

I envy people like Mister Peepers who have ginormous collections and know exactly what they have, what they have watched, and where it is.

Re: What was/will be your 100th blu-ray?

I wasn't familiar with pdjennings, so I did a forum search. It's funny all the threads just on the first page that come back referencing hardcore collectors, who has the most dvds/biggest collection, biggest fanatic, etc.
