Movies Least Likely to be on Blu Anytime Soon
I'd be happy to eat crow on this, but I don't think we're going to see Paul Greengrass's "United 93" on Blu due to it's instensely harsh, real-life subject matter coupled with being a catalog title. I'd buy what I think is one of the best films of the last decade, but I don't think many others would.
(Then again the tenth anniversary of 9/11 might prove me wrong).
That's my contender. What's yours?

Fearless (Peter Weir).
In Region 1, it only had one release on DVD all the way back in 1999... and in fullscreen. Not even a barebones re-release was done. Warners didnt even care to capitalize on Jeff Bridges Oscar victory last year with a re-release on any format.
Don't think it'll ever happen on DVD, nevermind Blu-Ray.

the better question would be"what movies were released on DVD but wont likely be on blu-ray anytime soon" because there are hundreds of films that you could say that were never even given a dvd release, let alone a blu.
I'd go with Trash Humpers.

I'm still waiting, probably in vain, to replace one VHS title with any kind of digital release. That would be Hector Babenco's At Play in the Fields of the Lord.
I've never bought an MOD DVD title, but I would if that's the only way they'd release this. I'm not even hoping for BD at this point, although it would be nice. Then again, it's a Universal catalog title, so even if they released it on BD, they'd probably just pull an old transfer out of the vault, slather on some DNR and EE, and call it high definition.
EDIT: Seeing bse's post above, I'll add an actual DVD title to this post: Equus. One of the best contemporary plays got a sadly underrated film treatment by the great Sidney Lumet, and now languishes on a non-anamorphic DVD release. Would love to see this treated properly on BD, even if barebones; I could watch Burton and Firth's performances all day.

Any of the deep catalog titles that have never gotten a decent DVD release. I'd love to see Memphis Belle but that has never seen a release outside the early non-anamorphic flipper.
For as good as United 93 was as a film, I wouldn't own it. I wanted to watch it once but it was so emotionally draining, especially the extras where the actors meet the families of who they play, that I couldn't watch it again.

Any title that's well-known (like most of the initial responses) has a much better shot than something like Switchblade Sisters or Crippled Masters.

I'm surprised at some films that are getting released on Blu-ray. Arthur 2: On the Rocks? Yeah I know there's an Arthur remake coming out but this was a pretty forgettable title.
I think there's several titles released on HD DVD that we'll never see on Blu-ray like Mobsters, Streets of Fire, American Me, The Getaway (1994), Galaxina
etc.
I have a feeling if titles are not released in the next three or four years, they may never be released at all. They'll only be available via streaming and downloading.
