We got the steelbook here in the UK as a HMV exclusive, but we didn't get it as a combo set.

I wasn't sure our play money budget had allowed for this, but now that my wife is back to work () she said we could afford to indulge so we picked up the single-disc Blu and watched it last night. I actually enjoyed it more this time than when we saw it in January. When we first saw it, I felt a lot of scenes ended abruptly and were choppy, as though they'd been harshly edited, but last night I wasn't nearly as conscious of that. I can't account for the change in my perception, but there you have it.

I'm actually building quite the collection of 3D blus...and I don't have a 3D HDTV yet. They all have a regular BD counterpart, except RE:A which has both versions on 1 disc.

Resident Evil Afterlife
Tangled
Tron Legacy
Green Hornet

This is why I think combo packs are a great idea. I personally don't have an interest in 3D, but I do think it's nice that these combo packs allow people to begin a 3D library fairly effortlessly.

The 3D combo pack has dropped to $19.99 on Amazon.

The only Blu-ray 3D title I can think of available at retail that is 3D only is The Official 2010 FIFA World Cup Film in 3D (there's a Blu-ray 2D edition available).

Every other release is a combo pack (with 2D and 3D versions on separate discs) or has 2D and 3D versions on the same disc (like Piranha).

The Toy Story 3D boxset only contains the 3D versions.

Yep, or buy the individual 3D releases that contain the other discs as well for 30-40 bucks apiece.

Yeah, I think I'll get it at Best Buy with their $5 DVD trade in deal. I literally have some DVDs that my cat sprayed on a few years ago that I thought I'd never be able to get rid of.

What he said. But yeah, that's the reason why I haven't bought Toy Story on Blu-ray yet. I want something with all the versions, which means two sets or the individual releases. I know, I know, you should always jump on these titles at release date, but I didn't. I might use two of them as my fulfillment titles at the Disney Movie Club, though.

Did the 3d version of Green Hornet originally come with a slipcover?
