I think another on one of my custom Sharpie covers will be needed for this one. At least we get it on BD though.

Hopefully that cover is just a placeholder. If it isn't at least we will only have to see the spine 99% of the time. However, I'm sure that the person that designed that cover would screw up the spine as well.

Goddamnit, did the guy who did Original Tron butcher this, too?

Who the fuck is responsible for the horrific design art on all my favorite movies when THE ORIGINAL POSTERS WERE GENIUS.

Revised cover isn't nearly as bad. Universal frequently uses temp art for new announcements.

I just watched the U.S. cut on DVD last night. Boy, does it look like shit. This BD couldn't come soon enough. Now, I just hope they pay a little more respect to the U.S. version than they did on DVD.

HDNet Movies aired the US version and it looked beautiful - can't say I recall the audio, but that's what I'm interested in knowing a little more about, hopefully it will be in 5.1 (since the DVD was not encoded as such)

It's not actually "temp" art but "ad" art, with the title and important info blown up slightly so that when it's reproduced in a Best Buy circular an inch tall that information is still readable.

still, an ad with letters not in helvetica looks cheap and tacky.

Just take the discs and put them into the case for the edition they released in May of 2002. That was really cool cover.

Despite this having Tom Cruise in it, I may have to spring for it at some point.

Tom Cruise + Tom Hanks' hair from The Da Vinci Code = "Who the hell is that?"

Am I looking at different covers? The one in the first post looks the same as the one in the updated cover post.

It would be great if part of the release was to include, or sign off to a 3rd party the licencing rights to, the Tangerine Dream Soundtrack.

So is that the real cover because it looks like the one that was originally here?
