For some reason you can find Alliance dvds/blus at FYE and CompUsa. I almost picked up seven once, then noticed the framing issue.

Yea, I remember seeing it not too long ago. I'm gonna check out FYE over the weekend and see if they still have it.

I'm shocked MRS. BROWN is getting a Blu-Ray. A phenomenally underrated film and Miramax's original DVD was a disgrace.

Who knows if Mrs. Brown will receive a Blu-ray (or DVD) release by EB in the US for the time being, but the rights due reside with Echo Bridge rather than Lionsgate. However, there is a release in Canada for anyone who wants it.

Lionsgate has already announced press releases for the Miramax titles they've received and plan on reissuing the already existing DVDs as soon as possible under their banner. The titles Lionsgate didn't receive have gone straight to Echo Bridge (unfortunately).

That's a shame. Echo Bridge doesn't deserve any of these titles.

I am really happy to see Lionsgate got Trainspotting and Cop land (a extremely underrated film). I already have the Alliance releases of both, but at least Lionsgate can put out a decent product that doesn't disrespect the films. They might even end up being worth an double dip.

Re: Miramax's HALLOWEEN/CHILDREN OF THE CORN/HELLRAISERs coming to Blu via Echo Bridg

The partnership between Miramax and Netflix goes live on May 1st with a plethora of releases, including those where the rights are owned by Lionsgate and Echo Bridge, going up on day one and then will be scattered out for the months to come.

No word if they'll all be standard definition or high definition, but it'll be interesting to see what's supplied to Netflix.

If you go here: http://feedfliks.com/streaming/coming-soon

And scroll down about 1/3rd of the way you'll get to what's launching on May 1st. All but 2 or 3 titles appear to be standard def.

Netflix doesn't pre-announce what's SD or what's HD until the moment the film/television show is available to stream or a few hours before.

Hey all. Kind of OT, but has anybody here linked their Netflix acct with this feedflix.com? Is it pretty legit and safe?

I use Instantwatcher.com. Better design and layout PLUS they also have an app for iOS.

Re: Miramax's HALLOWEEN/CHILDREN OF THE CORN/HELLRAISERs coming to Blu via Echo Bridg

I read on the forums at horrordvds.com that someone contacted Echo Bridge and they said they were looking into the issue with H20 (and possibly other titles) and that a SE with bonus features would be released later this year if it sells well. Not sure if I believe them or not, or if I care based on how little they seem to, but interesting.

Someone also noted that if you put H20 in a DVD-ROM drive, it displays as From Dusk Till Dawn. Dumbasses.

I heard that too on a different site (I think it was bluray.com). I get a feeling that is their PR spin to get people to buy the disc. Then a year from now when the SE never happens and people ask about it, they'll just say the title didn't sell well enough to warrant a revisit.

I wouldn't be surprised to learn their PR people are that stupid.

"Please, buy this shitty release now and then we'll reward you with what we should've done the first time. Maybe."

Yea, fuck you. No thanks.

So did lionsgate get the halloween/prophecy distribution rights for the uk? All of the new amazon uk listings say they're being put out by lionsgate. No BD's yet, however

Did anyone take a chance and pick up From Dusk Till Dawn today? I saw that both Best Buy and Amazon had it for $9.99. Was curious if it was really that much worse than the import version.

Re: Miramax's HALLOWEEN/CHILDREN OF THE CORN/HELLRAISERs coming to Blu via Echo Bridg

Some thoughts over at Blu-Ray.com on Halloween: H20:

http://forum.blu-ray.com/4631395-post497.html
http://forum.blu-ray.com/4679022-post522.html
http://forum.blu-ray.com/4626401-post483.html

Definitely disappointed. I know it's Echo Bridge and I know I shouldn't have expected much, but I was hoping not to drop the dough to import from Amazon CA (with their crazy charges). Looks like I might have to eventually.

did some online research, I'm returning From Dusk Til Dawn (EB edition) to Amazon, and did an order of the Alliance version along with Amelie and City of God (which isn't on your list - but has been released in Canada as well)

Has anyone seen/reviewed the Hellraiser DVDs that released a few weeks ago? I'm interested to see if they are in any way better than the crap they put out before. I'm talking specifically about movies III-VIII

Here is a review for Part III that was posted a couple pages back.

http://www.ghoulbasement.com/2011/04...-1992-dvd.html

I wouldn't hold your breath on the rest of the series, if what's been reviewed on DVD/BD now is any indication of the quality.
