Glad to hear this is getting a blu-ray release. Even though I know I’d never watch the theatrical version if given the option, I still wish they’d always give us a choice between an extended cut and the original. For instance, I might be in the minority but I still prefer the theatrical cut of the Watchmen. It seems like releases with multiple cuts have been pretty hit and miss on BR. Anyone recall if Dreamworks and/or Columbia have put out any BRs with multiple cuts of a film?

Good to hear this is coming out. I picked up the import a couple years ago, so I'll watch the reviews to see if the transfer is improved...

I prefer the extended cut and that's all I've ever watched since it came out.

If the BD imports all the extras and both cuts, I'll pick this up. One of my favorite movies ever.

To me, the theatrical cut is perfect. The Bootleg cut is nice but my preference is the theatrical cut. I have the Japanese DVD which has both in DTS and may pick up the BD if it's just the Bootleg. Definite pick up if it's both.

Yeah, I'll only get this if it has both cuts and every extra, as otherwise, I'm happy with my own combo-package of the UK blu-ray and the "bootleg" dvd.

I wouldn't be surprised if Paramount makes this a two-disc set similar to their Anchorman Best Buy exclusive which included ALL of the extras from the original two-disc set PLUS the Best Buy exclusive extras PLUS even more extras on top of that.

I don't care about the Stillwater CD (all of the tracks are in my iTunes library), I just want both cuts in HD.

Okay, I don't know if this is the right link or if Best Buy is selling the Region B (ahem ALL) import, but with that high of an SRP, it has to be a multi-disc set with both cuts.

I notice it does have the same 2/11/2008 release date listed on BestBuy.com as the UK disc.

Last I remember, it was supposed to be a Sapphire release. That MSRP sure seems like it.

Many Best Buy exclusives come out on Sunday (re: that huge wave of Lionsgate titles, Anchorman, etc). And yeah, I heard about it from a poster on AVS/HDD who tends to be pretty reliable with his info. Sorry for not saying so in the first place.

Bootleg cut only. No Stillwater cd either. Cameron has been too busy to prep any new extras. Not sure why the theatrical cut is being left off.

I do too. I already have the UK one (as well as the DVD) but I'll definitely pick it up if it includes the theatrical cut on blu. Movie is amazing.

I hate this is a Best Buy exclusive. That just means the price will be jacked up beyond what it really should be.

Columbia has, as "The Other Guys" was just released this week by them with both the theatrical and extended/unrated cut on it...."Walk Hard" also had both the theatrical and unrated/extended cut as well, as did "Pineapple Express"....

However, as has already been mentioned, "Almost Famous" is not being released on BD by Columbia, but by Paramount....

I've never found the BB exclusives to be higher priced than the average non-exclusive blu-ray releases. I'm sure there are exception (like the Dragon Dynasty ones), but they usually have a sale-price during their first week of release.

Yeah, it really sucked to get that BB-exclusive Anchorman BD for $9.99!
Or more recently: Big Daddy and Mr. Deeds for $7.99 each, so over priced!
