Zodiac DC region question

I've searched and really can't find an answer to this so was hoping someone here might be able to help me.

Is the 'Zodiac' Directors Cut blu ray essentially the same version for both Region A & B?

Comparing the two on Amazon and Amazon.co.uk, the US Version is 2 disc as opposed to 1 disc from the UK, but reading the write-ups on both it does indicate they are the same.

I guess I just need some clarification from someone that knows before I make a purchase.

FWIW - it's $29.99 on Amazon, but the UK site has it for $14.XX plus shipping

US Paramount version: 2 discs, region free
disc 1, movie only, lossless audio
extras in HD all on disc 2

Foreign Warner version: 1 disc, region free
movie and extras all on 1 disc, loss audio for main feature,

I owned both the UK and US version of Zodiac on BD (and HD). The US edition has lossless and would be a better buy. However, it appears Zodiac is now Out of Print. Not sure why.

Unless we're talking about a different version, it's still available...

Out of print means they're not manufacturing any more discs - whatever is in circulation now is all there will ever be. Retailers may still have stock of the title, but once that stock depletes they won't be getting any more.

Not sure why. BDs generally don't go OOP like this.

Possibly a new configuration coming out that includes both cuts of the film.

Nah, it's been oop for over a year now. It was one of a few Paramount titles that went oop at the same time, but I can't remember what the others were.

If its really been oop for a year, why doesn't dvdaf.com list it as such?

Oddly enough, it appears other Paramount titles might be OOP like Hot Rod, Into the Wild and more (both on DVD and BD).

My brother wanted a copy of this and the cheapest we could find it was 25 bucks. Odd that some of the titles are already OOP.

Not sure why Paramount is doing this. Unless they plan on selling on titles to other studios (like Sony).

Re: Zodiac DC region question

So, evidently this thing is still OOP. Has anyone heard anything about a re-release?

I didn't care for Zodiac too much when I saw it in the theater but thought I'd give it another shot after hearing such high praise.

No news. Paramount has let several of it's Blu-rays go out of print.

Only place you'll be able to find it is at a closing Blockbuster store.
