Problems with Toy Story 3 Blu-Ray???
Hello,
I hardley ever post on here, but this has got me a little pissed off...
Has anyone had any problems playing their Blu-Ray version from the 4-disc pack??
I'm having problems around the 0:58 - 1:00 mark (right around the time of woody attacking and tying up the monkey). It seems like this is the place where a layer change might take place.
It happened on the first one I purchased, so I exchanged it and got a replacement. The second one I brought home also happens right around the same area within a minute or two of where it happened on the first one I exchanged.
It just locks up and skips about 2 minutes ahead. It also drops the audio when it happens.
I have never had a problem with ANY Blu-Ray that I've purchased. This is the first time.
My player is a Toshiba BDX2000, and before anyone suggests it, I have looked to see if there is a firmware upgrade and there isn't.
So....Anyone else having any issues or any ideas of what I should do??
Maybe it's a bad batch where I purchased it?? Should get one from somewhere else??
Any help would be appreciated....

Re: Problems with Toy Story 3 Blu-Ray???
UPDATE:
I just called Toshiba. It seems there IS an update for this and they'll have to send me a firmware update disk, which is currently on backorder. It is NOT posted as an update online, and they couldn't tell me why it wasn't.
In the meantime, they told me to insert an SD (1GB Minimum) card into the slot to take up any additional buffering that's happening. They claim that those are the symptoms (skipping, jumping ahead) when there's not enough room to buffer, so the the SD card will take care of the problem until I get the update disk. It's worth a try....

I just wish I'd known about this before returning the first one...
Is there any advantage of having an SD card inserted instead of a flash drive?? I would think they'd both accomplish the same thing, no??

Well, I had an issue with mine but can't recall what the time mark was on it. What happened was during the movie it just froze (no sound either) so I managed to rewind it and it played fine.

I can't get my LG BH200 to play it at all. It freezes right after the language-selection screen. This and SPLICE are the two I can't play-- I'll see if it plays on my fiancee's Sony.

Does this have any pop-up crap during the end credits like Beauty and the Beast?
Main reason I'm not buying this: It's missing the 3-D version!

How can it be missing the 3D version when I saw it in 2D?
Edit: no problem with the blu-ray on my Panny.

Re: Problems with Toy Story 3 Blu-Ray???
Toy Story 3 unlike beauty and the beast is not fast play enabled thus there is no pop up on it like with beauty and the beast which was the main reason why the b&b pop up occured when people didnt click to proceed to the main menu at the start of the disc.
I wish this included the 3D version as well but considering i picked it up for around 11 after the amazon 8 dollar promo and a amazon 5 dollar incentive they gave me for a issue with another order.
I can easily sell this when the do a boxset or individual releases of the toy story movies in 3D hit bluray

I'm one of the people that the glitch happened to right around the 1:00 mark. It happened on my Insignia BD player... I have yet to try it on my ps3.
Edit: Just tested on my PS3, and no issues on there.

Re: Problems with Toy Story 3 Blu-Ray???
First post here. Thanks in advance.
I'm having a very odd problem with Toy Story 3 playing through a PS3.
I selected 5.1 sound, but everything is coming through my front and center speakers. I went to audio setup on the disc, and it confirmed - all rear sounds are coming out of the front speakers. It doesn't recognize the subwoofer, either.
I run all the setup tools on my receiver and get no change.
So I put the TS3 DVD in the player (always wondered why the sold them together) and go to the audio setup - everything works fine. Surround channels and subwoofer work as expected.
All of my other blu-ray discs have worked fine.
Anybody have a clue what's going on here?

Re: Problems with Toy Story 3 Blu-Ray???
Supposedly the Canadian Firmware update for the BDX2000KC (the US model is BDX2000KU; obviously nothing more than a letter change) works just fine, is available through Toshiba's Canadian website (interestingly enough the update just says it's generic for BDX2000), and fixes problems with Lionsgate BDs like "Kick-Ass" (which I just bought tonight and found out about) and "The Expendables" which don't want to load at all.
I haven't tried the Canadian update, but will try the memory card fix first, but if you do try the Canadian fix, do so at your own risk. I personally don't want to wait for them to send out something on backorder they can post on their damn site, and the player was free with my TV anyway, so if the memory card fix doesn't work I'll try the Canadian update.

Re: Problems with Toy Story 3 Blu-Ray???
I was the OP on the Beauty & the Beast BD pop-up thread. If you look back at that discussion, you'll see that the pop-up did indeed happen when playing it from the main menu at the start of the disc. It WASN'T just a FastPlay issue.
