Which do you watch: preferred cut in SD or other cut in HD?
I was thinking about getting the UK Punisher (Tom Jane) Blu-ray but noticed it was only the theatrical cut and not the extended cut. As it is, I have rarely watched a DVD since I got an HDTV and Blu-ray player, I generally find a Blu-ray to watch. So this made me think about which I would do, watch my preferred cut (in SD) or watch it in HD (with a different cut). What would you do in that situation?

I've got an even better one for you:
Would you rather watch a movie in SD with a decent color transfer, or in HD with an ugly color scheme? (Re: The French Connection, or Aliens.)

Well most times I like the extended versions but I have a few Blu's that are the original cut and they are just fine because the Extended version was just a few useless minutes or seconds

It's a case-by-case basis. With something that pretty much ruins the movie like The French Connection, I'll stick with the DVD. But with extended editions (which are very hit or miss for me), it depends on how different the movie is and how much I like or dislike the changes. This topic reminds me of the comments about The Exorcist, which has what I would consider benign changes like the Warner logo, and that's a case where I definitely want to watch the BD (of the original cut, of course) instead of a DVD from 1997.
And then there are other factors, such as the viability of a re-release. I know some people are holding off on LOTR because they know the EEs are coming eventually. With some movies, the preferred versions are unlikely to be released, and you might as well just enjoy what you get. Yes, I would rather watch Star Wars in HD with the changes than watch the originals from laserdisc transfers.
